When it comes to being a hero, size does matter. Sometimes being extremely small is as useful as being extremely big. Fortunately, Ant-Man has both options at his disposal. While several heroes have worn the costume over the years, Scott Lang is the version most people are now familiar with thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The journey from a reformed criminal to a hero has not been an easy one for Scott Lang, both in the movies and in the comics. It would be even harder if he had to take on the best of heroes DC has to offer.

10 LOSE AGAINST: Batman

This isn't so much about Ant-Man as it is about Batman. The Caped Crusader is such a brilliant strategist that it's hard to imagine someone being able to out think him, though it does happen occasionally. While Scott Lang's size-changing abilities are impressive, they're nothing Batman hasn't seen before and can't beat.

The only edge Scott has is his keen intellect. Well, that and an army of ants at his disposal. Still, if Batman can take on the lunatics in his rogue's gallery and come out on top, he'll find a way to take down Ant-Man.

9 DEFEAT: Green Arrow

Oliver Queen has a history with heroes who can shrink in the DC Universe. He and The Atom have teamed up more than a few times, so he's more than familiar with the skill set. But like Batman, Green Arrow would have a problem with the ant army.

Unlike Batman, it would be surprising to find out that he had a trick arrow in his arsenal to defeat it. This isn't the kind of thing Green Arrow plans ahead for. Frankly, he doesn't really plan ahead for anything. His only chance would be to take Lang out before he calls for reinforcements, but that's a long shot at best.

8 LOSE AGAINST: Aquaman

The King of Atlantis has nothing to fear from the likes of Ant-Man, and not just because of his superior strength. Big or small, there isn't much Ant-Man can do to Aquaman if he's underwater. Even if Ant-Man can mount some type of attack using his ants, Aquaman can just call on something from the ocean that will eat all of those ants.

If Ant-Man goes big, Aquaman calls in a whale or a Kraken to crush him. If he goes small, he gets eaten alongside his ants. Staying as regular-sized Scott Lang isn't an option, either, since Aquaman will just beat him up. Ant-Man just isn't winning this one, and it would be an ugly loss too.

7 DEFEAT: Nightwing

Nightwing, or whatever name Dick Grayson is going by this week, will absolutely lose a fight to Ant-Man. He frankly won't even see him coming. As talented a fighter, acrobat and detective as he is, the man isn't ready for everything Scott Lang brings to a fight.

His size-changing abilities immediately put Nightwing at a disadvantage as does the army of ants option. But Lang also has Nightwing outsmarted. All of that being said, Nightwing could win the fight as long as he gets the drop on Ant-Man and catches him off guard with that first punch. After that, he'll need backup to get through a fight with Lang.

6 LOSE AGAINST: Black Canary

It goes without saying that Black Canary is one of the more talented and deadly fighters in DC. Her hand-to-hand combat skills put her on par with pretty much anyone around. But that's not what gives her the win over Ant-Man. It's all about the voice. The canary cry is an attack she uses by screaming, capable of inflicting significant damage on almost anyone or anything.

Black Canary could easily use this to wipe out Ant-Man, regardless of what size he is, as well as his ants. Even if he's small enough that she can't quite seem him, her canary cry would be still able to nail him

5 DEFEAT: Booster Gold

This almost isn't a fair fight as virtually any hero could take Booster in a one-on-one face-off. While he has matured over the years, he's still a glory hound from the future who's more concerned with fame and fortune than anything else. Still, he has managed to become a rather formidable hero, thanks to the advanced technology he brought back from the future with him.

Unfortunately, none of that counteracts any of the options Ant-Man has at his disposal. Booster Gold is simply outclassed in this fight, though he's the kind of guy that Lang might be more interested in friends with than fighting.

4 LOSE AGAINST: Martian Manhunter

Martian Manhunter from DC Comics

The element of surprise is pretty much all Ant-Man has against Martian Manhunter. His formidable array of powers includes flight, endurance, strength, telepathy, shapeshifting, and more. Ant-Man can change sizes and call ants for help. Martian Manhunter's telepathic abilities alone would make this a hard fight on him.

He might even be able to use those telepathic powers to disrupt his connection with the ants. Once the Manhunter had a lock on Ant-Man, Lang would have to go microscopically small to escape. Ant-Man's best plan of attack would be to have all the ants carry lit matches, though that would only work for so long.

3 DEFEAT: Animal Man

The ability to call on the power of any animal through the morphogenic field in the universe is impressive, to say the least. Animal Man has used this talent to fly like a bird or nap like a kitty. Not all of his choices are necessarily great ones. Still, his power set is an impressive one.

But he would have to channel something that likes to eat ants if he wants to win against Ant-Man and he probably doesn't want to do that. Even if he gets the powers to enhance his strength or speed, Ant-Man's size-changing abilities will give him the victory.

2 LOSE AGAINST: The Atom

Scott Lang's size-changing abilities have given him the win in a lot of cases. But if he had to go up against The Atom, he loses that fight for one simple reason; Ray Palmer is better at it than him. No one changes size like The Atom, and no one understands the science of using those abilities to their full advantage like him.

Scott is good with his gear and has the scientific knowledge to back it up, but he just isn't as good as Palmer. Who would have thought a fight could be won by the person who can get the smallest? Pitting these two against each other would be the smallest fight of all time.

1 DEFEAT: Red Tornado

To be blunt, the android hero known as Red Tornado is an absolute powerhouse. He can generate powerful winds that could incapacitate almost any opponent. But Ant-Man poses a unique threat to him. If just one or two of those ants get inside his body, they could do some real damage. That's not even taking into account what happens if Ant-Man shrinks down small enough to get in there.

Sure, Red Tornado could blow most of Lang's ants away before they could do any damage, but with millions of them at his disposal, Ant-Man will get some through. Then, they start pulling wires out all over the place.
