The original suit was designed and worn by Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), who passed it on to Lang in 2015's Ant-Man. Rudd returned in wearing an upgraded costume in Captain America: Civil War, in which he displayed the ability to grow to giant-size. Earlier this week, in celebration of what would have been the 100th birthday of legendary artist Jack Kirby, Lilly finally showcased her Wasp suit for the first time.
In Ant-Man and the Wasp, Lang comes to grips with his status as both superhero and father as he is thrust into a new quest alongside the Wasp and Dr. Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man. The trio’s new adventure will see them unearth secrets from their past and introduce the original Wasp, Hope van Dyne’s mother, who was thought to be trapped in a quantum dimension when she hacked her suit to stop a rogue missile.
Opening July 6, 2018, director Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man and the Wasp also stars returning cast members Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne, Michael Peña as Luis, Judy Greer as Maggie, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Abby Ryder Fortson as Cassie, Tip “T.I.” Harris as Dave, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne.
