Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania writer Jeff Loveness revealed what part of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie was his favorite.

During an interview with SFX Magazine, Loveness proclaimed that M.O.D.O.K. was perhaps "[his] single favourite thing" that he had gotten in Quantumania. "Obviously we are very faithful to the comics with the design and the look, but then there is a little bit of extra we put into him," he continued. "Maybe I'll get fired off [Avengers: The Kang Dynasty] when people see it, but some of my favorite moments come from M.O.D.O.K. and the dynamics there!"

Loveness described M.O.D.O.K. as someone trying to make the best of a raw deal he was given in life while also having some negative qualities in his personality. "He's a real loose cannon character and I had a great amount of fun with him," Loveness said. "That was almost day one in the room – we cracked M.O.D.O.K. as a character and the movie just became so fun."

Kang the Conqueror's Impact on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

In addition to discussing M.O.D.O.K., Loveness talked about Quantumania's main villain Kang the Conqueror and the challenge he'll present to the newer heroes the MCU has introduced in the projects of recent years. "Phase Four felt like the birth of new characters," Loveness remarked. "You're giving everyone a little bit of a breath, you're broadening out the universe, you have fun Disney+ shows that are elevating characters. And now I think it's time to put the pedal to the gas again, and really take all these new characters that we like and throw them into the fire."

The writer also delved into the difference between Kang and fellow MCU villain Thanos, citing said difference as humanity due to the Mad Titan being an alien, while Kang's origins are closer to Earth. Loveness called Kang "a very lonely character" and wanted to introduce these elements before the character reaches "such apocalyptic, Avengers-scale heights." Kang's actor Jonathan Majors previously offered his own take on why the two villains shouldn't be compared, remarking that while he understood their similarities, Kang and Thanos are "completely different worlds."

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania arrives in theaters on Feb. 17.
