During Disney's Investor Day 2020 last week, many new projects were announced, including the upcoming third Ant-Man movie, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. While a specific release date has not been announced, actor Michelle Pfeiffer has confirmed the film will hit theaters in 2022.

In a post on her Instagram account that featured the film's logo, Pfeiffer revealed the year of the movie's release by stating,  "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Coming 2022!" However, Pfeiffer has since deleted that information and replaced it with a new post lacking the date. Aside from Quantumania, 2022 will also see the release of fellow Marvel Studios movies Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther 2 and Captain Marvel 2.

Pfeiffer will reprise her role as the original Wasp Janet van Dyne from 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp and 2019's Avengers: Endgame. Aside from Pfeiffer, Quantumania will also see the return of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne/The Wasp and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, with Peyton Reed once again returning to direct the project.

The cast will also be joined by newcomers Kathryn Newton as Scott's daughter Cassie -- who was previously played by Abby Ryder Fortson in Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp and Emma Fuhrmann in Avengers: Endgame -- and Jonathan Majors as the film's antagonist, Kang the Conqueror, a longtime villain from the pages of Marvel Comics.

Directed by Peyton Reed, Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne, Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang and Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror. The film does not currently have a release date, but will release sometime in 2022.
