The official theater standee for Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania appears to confirm that David Dastmalchian will reprise his fan-favorite role of Kurt Goreshter in the Ant-Man threequel after all.As pointed out by Twitter user Charles Trotter, Dastmalchian's name is included in the billing block for Quantumania, meaning Marvel Cinematic Universe fans can likely expect to see Kurt at least one more time. This is a surprising development, seeing as how Dastmalchian himself strongly suggested he wouldn't be in the new Ant-Man film during an interview with Screen Rant this past March.RELATED: Bill Murray's Ant-Man 3 Role May Be More Substantial Than Expected

"It doesn't look like it... But that's okay," Dastmalchian said at the time when asked if he was going to be in Quantumania. "I know they're making something incredible. I can't wait to see what [Ant-Man series director] Peyton [Reed] does next. He's one of my favorite directors... He's been so busy. I have tried to stay in touch, but he's making an incredible film right now."

However, while Quantumania's theater standee suggests Dastmalchian actually will reprise his role as Kurt, it seems as though he will be the only one of Scott Lang/Ant-Man's (Paul Rudd) running buddies to show up in the new film. The standee makes absolutely no mention of Michael Peña, reinforcing the notion that beloved Ant-Man staple Luis will be absent this time around. Furthermore, it was confirmed all the way back in March 2021 that T.I. (real name Clifford Joseph Harris Jr.) would not be reprising his role as Dave in Quantumania amid legal controversy surrounding the actor/rapper.

Kurt Looks to Be Back in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Introduced in 2015's Ant-Man, the trio of Luis, Kurt and Dave made up Scott Lang's criminal friend group. However, the former thieves went straight by the events of 2018's Ant-Man and the Wasp, forming the company X-Con Security Consultants. When audiences last saw Luis, Kurt and Dave, they were taking care of the villainous Sonny Burch (Walton Goggins) so Scott and Hope van Dyne/the Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) could focus on stopping Ava Starr/Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), whom Kurt believed was the mythical Baba Yaga.

Dastmalchian has certainly made a name for himself in the world of genre films. Prior to appearing as Kurt in Ant-Man, he played a minor role in the 2008 DC film The Dark Knight. More recently, he starred as Abner Krill/Polka-Dot Man in the 2021 DC Universe film The Suicide Squad. It was also in 2021 that he made an appearance in Denis Villeneuve's Dune as Piter De Vries, a role previously played by Brad Dourif in David Lynch's 1984 film of the same name.
