A new report suggests that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Captain Marvel 2 will begin filming at the same time.

According to the Film & Television Industry Alliance, the two Marvel Studios sequels are both set to start filming on May 31. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will shoot in London and Atlanta, and Captain Marvel 2 will be in production in London and Los Angeles. While Quantumania is scheduled to wrap filming on Sept. 24, Captain Marvel 2 has no listed end date.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will see the titular heroes (Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly) confronting the time-traveling villain Kang the Conqueror, who will be played by Lovecraft Country's Johnathan Majors. Along for the ride will be the original Ant-Man and Wasp, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), and grown-up Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton). While Ant-Man and the Wasp antagonist Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) is not confirmed to appear in the film, a blog post by Marvel teased her return.

Captain Marvel 2 will see Brie Larson reprise the role of Carol Danvers as she takes on Zawe Ashton's mysterious villain. Carol won't be alone though, as she will receive an assist from WandaVision's Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), who will make her debut in Disney+'s Ms. Marvel TV series. There are also reports that the film is looking to introduce Blue Marvel.

Future Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films include Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Eternals, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther II, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Fantastic 4 and Blade.

Directed by Nia DaCosta and written by Megan McDonnell, Captain Marvel 2 stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau. The film arrives in theaters Nov. 11, 2022.
