While Ant-Man and its sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp were both successful for Marvel Studios, a third film has not yet been announced. However, Paul Rudd knows exactly who he'd like to direct the next Ant-Man movie, should it ever happen. Rudd told Yahoo! he wants Peyton Reed, who directed both Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp, to direct the third installment.
The actor recently worked with Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi on a commercial for Pepsi MAX. The commercial for reunited Rudd with his Ant-Man co-star Michael Peña. The pair play astronauts working hard to get their hands on a Pepsi MAX.
While the actor had nothing but good things to say about Waititi's directing, Rudd said, "Peyton is my guy.” In fact, Reed said in October of last year that he had a trilogy arc in mind for the Ant-Man characters.
Reed was largely a comedy director before working on the Ant-Man films. A few of his past feature films include 2000's Bring It On, 2006's The Break-up and 2008's Yes Man.
