Two years after debuting as Janet van Dyne in Ant-Man and the Wasp, Michelle Pfeiffer has confirmed that her character will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for Phase 4's upcoming Ant-Man 3.

During an interview segment on the podcast Ladies First with Laura Brown (at the 5:35 mark), Pfeiffer disclosed that Janet will be in the next franchise entry but refrained from elaborating any further on plot details. The most she revealed about Ant-Man 3's production was that filming for the project "is supposed to happen in spring of 2021."

Though the original Ant-Man implied her character to be dead, Ant-Man and the Wasp revealed that Janet had merely been trapped in the Quantum Realm after a mission gone wrong, with Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) getting recruited by Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) to help bring her back. Though the trio succeeded, Janet was later wiped from existence alongside her husband and Hope due to Thanos' snap, with Scott surviving thanks to being in the Quantum Realm at the cost of remaining stuck there for five years, which he revealed in Avengers: Endgame to have felt like mere hours. After being revived thanks to the Infinity Stones, she was last seen attending the funeral of Tony Stark alongside Hank, Hope and Scott.

In addition to Pfeiffer, Rudd, Lilly and Douglas are confirmed to be reprising their previous roles for the third Ant-Man movie. They will be joined by Jonathan Majors (Lovecraft County), whose casting was announced this fall and, according to sources, may play time-traveling Marvel villain Kang the Conqueror. No confirmation has been given yet on the  remaining cast, including Michael Peña, Tip "T.I." Harris and David Dastmalchian as Scott's X-Con Security business partners and former heist crew.

Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man 3 stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer and Johnathan Majors. The film has yet to receive an official release date.
