As has been pointed out previously, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" has some overlap with the currently airing Disney XD animated series "Star Wars Rebels." That makes sense as they both cover roughly the same pre-"A New Hope" timeframe; "Rebels" season one took place five years prior to the very first "Star Wars" movie, and "Rogue One" takes place literally right before it. Fans have spotted some of "Rogue One's" "Rebels" Easter eggs, including the presence of the Ghost in the Rebel starship fleet, a quick shot of the astromech droid Chopper rolling across the screen and the name "General Syndulla" being paged in the Yavin 4 base.

But apparently there's another "Rebels" Easter egg out there, one that wasn't included in the StarWars.com post. As Screen Crush has pointed out, information included in Pablo Hidalgo's "Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide" potentially ties Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) to upcoming seasons of "Star Wars Rebels."

In the guide, one of Andor's "operational aliases" is listed as "FULCRUM," a "Recruitment agent in Albarrio sector." That codename has been used twice before on "Rebels" for secret informants; it was originally the codename of Ahsoka Tano and has since been taken on by Imperial Agent Kallus. We now know that, at some point in the years in-between "Star Wars Rebels" season three and the start of "Rogue One," Cassian Andor takes on the codename. As Screen Crush points out, the guide lists Andor as being 26 years old and the character states that he's been a Rebel since he was 6. It's likely that Andor's already been an active Rebel elsewhere in the galaxy concurrent with the first few seasons of "Star Wars Rebels."

Whether or not this means that Andor will appear on "Rebels" as the animated series approaches "Rogue One" in the timeline remains unclear. We do know that another "Rogue One" cast member, Forest Whitaker, will reprise his movie role of Saw Gerrera on the animated series. Gerrera will appear in the episode "Ghosts of Geonosis," which airs on January 7.
