Another Marvel Exclusive: Bruce Jones signs with 'The House'

Following on the heels of Tuesday's announcement that artist Gary Frank had signed an exclusive deal with Marvel Comics, today Marvel announced that "Incredible Hulk" writer Bruce Jones has also signed an exclusivity agreement with "The House of Ideas." Jones is currently the writer of "Incredible Hulk" and "The Call of Duty: The Precinct." Since long-time writer Peter David left "The Hulk," the title had seen a number of writers come and go with very mixed reactions. Jones' take on the Hulk has been lauded by fans and critics alike and helped stand the title firmly on two feet.

"Crafting stories that cut to the heart of the title character, Bruce iscarving a new audience for 'Incredible Hulk,'" Senior Editor Axel Alonso said in a release. "And did I mention that there was lots of smashing involved?"

"Working with Marvel on 'Incredible Hulk,' 'Tangled Web,' 'The Call of Duty: The Precinct' and other projects has been equal parts challenging and rewarding,"said Jones in the release. "Coming to know its enthusiastic, always warm and supportivestaff has been one of the highlights of my career. I've worked for the Houseof Ideas in the past, but never when the stars were aligned so perfectly andthe excitement and good vibes so absolutely palpable. Joining the group islike being part of an extended family whose spirit, dedication, and sense ofesprit de corps is a tribute to the industry. My heartfelt thanks toeveryone!"

For more on Jones and his work on "The Precinct," check out our May 2nd interview with the writer. CBR also spoke with Jones back in January about his work on the 'Incredible Hulk' and his history in the industry.

And never accuse Marvel of not being able to time an announcement perfectly. Those looking to read a bit of Jones' handiwork can do so next week when "Incredible Hulk" #43 hits the stands.
