The world of anime owes a considerable part of its success to the romance genre. No matter the popularity of shonen, isekai, or other anime genres, what a good romance series does to a viewer's heart is far more satisfactory. Even though love stories may not be everyone's cup of tea, nothing beats the magic of young love, especially when the entire series cooks up to that one perfect moment when the main characters confess their love to each other. From gems like My Little Monster to Clannad, it's almost impossible only to pick a few love stories which concluded with the most heartfelt love confessions.

The best part about anime love confessions are undoubtedly the emotions, clarity, and the depth with which the feelings are addressed. It almost makes the audience want to relive or experience the same kind of love. While the list is endless, here are some of the most heartfelt anime love confessions.

Sawako Kuronuma to Shota Kazehaya -- Kimi ni Todoke

Kimi ni Todoke

Kimi ni Todoke is hands down one of the most popular romance anime of all time. Everything is absolutely gorgeous in this anime, from the story to its characters. The pace with which the anime leads up to the moment Shota confesses his love for Sawako is breathtakingly beautiful. Sawako has been misunderstood all her life because her appearance resembles Sadako from The Ring, while Shota is the "popular boy" at school.

However, Shota is nothing like most shojo romance male leads. Instead, he is an incredibly kind-hearted and warm person who immediately recognizes Kuronuma for the beautiful person she is. Both of them are attracted to each other but are reluctant to confess. Finally, Shota plucks up the courage to confess in front of everyone, relinquishing everyone's doubts.

Kyouya Sata to Erika Shinohara -- Wolf Girl and the Black Prince

Wolf Girl and Black Prince anime Kyouya angry with Erika

Kyouya Sata portrays the typical shojo male lead who is unbearably handsome, smart, and comes from money. Kyouya may seem like the school prince, but when he bumps into Erika, he literally decides to make her his pet. For the better part of the series, Kyouya gives Erika a tough time, calling her annoying, ditching her, and even having her run errands.

However, he plainly rejects her when she confesses her love for him. His rejection is what makes his eventual love confession worth it, because when Erika decides to distance herself from him is when Kyouya understands what he's lost. He eventually wins her back and tries to say the magical words, but is unable to pronounce them out loud. He then whispers the words into her ear, creating a magical moment that would always stay between the two.

Zen to Shirayuki -- Snow White and the Red Hair

Image features a visual from Snow White and the Red Hair: (From left to right) Shirayuki (short, red hair and cream-colored dress) and Zen (short, white-silver hair and blue and white uniform) are holding hands.

Zen and Shirayuki's relationship has been a sight for soar years. It's incredibly healthy and loving and fills the audience's stomach with butterflies. Since the show's beginning, it's instantly evident that Zen is interested in Shirayuki. However, he doesn't force his liking on her nor resorts to childish games of being rude to her because he likes her. Instead, he's always subtly there by her side, offering protection and, at times, hinting towards his love.

Both the characters have sweet moments of young love throughout the series until finally, Zen comes clean and confesses his love to Shirayuki under the beautiful night sky. He kisses her and then carries her to a beautiful view that would become an eternal memory.

Kyo Sohma to Tohru Honda -- Fruits Basket

Kyo and Tohru in Fruits Basket

Fruits Basket is a classic, and its reboot was everything fans wanted. The slow burn of Kyo and Tohru's budding romance was almost criminal, but it's safe to say it was completely worth it. Even though Kyo and Tohru have some demons in the past, especially Kyo, that didn't stop Tohru from reminding Kyo that she loves him no matter what.

Tohru doesn't care about the curse and confesses first, but when Kyo comes around to answer that love, the moment is truly unforgettable. In the end, he is finally able to say it out loud to her and chooses her in the end. He gives her the much-anticipated kiss and hugs her. Fortunately, to their delight, Kyo doesn't turn into a cat.
