Typically, anime villains rely on their intellect to outsmart the hero and extend the plot. Since they have dozens of foes to face off against any given moment, they must be prepared at all times. However, there have been instances where a villain is so powerful that they completely abandon any semblance of strategy.

10 Iron's Body Made Him Nearly Indestructible (Fire Force)

Iron from fire force

Iron was a member of the White-Clad who could harden his blood to make him more resilient. As a result, he was extremely confident in his skills to contend with any member of Company Eight and prevail.

However, the heroes noticed that it would be impossible for him to move without loosening the defenses around his joints. By shooting his elbows and knees, they capitalized on Iron's low intelligence and lack of strategy in order to bring him crashing down.

9 Sloth Blindly Charged At His Assailants (Fullmetal Alchemist)

Sloth in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

To Sloth's credit, he had much going for him. In addition to being the most physically threatening homunculus, he could move at frightening bursts of speed and had unmatched endurance. However, Sloth failed to harness his astounding attributes in any meaningful way.

During his fight against Armstrong, he simply charged across the hall in hopes that he'd hit him in one of his blind rushes. This gave reinforcements enough time to arrive and assist Armstrong in finishing Sloth off. Should the villain have fought more tactically, he could have won in under a minute.

8 Cheetu Relied On His Speed To Outflank Hunters (Hunter X Hunter)

Cheetu had such high speed that it rivaled even the chimera ant royal guards. He made full use of this against Morel, especially when placing him in a Nen game where he was forced to catch him.

Unfortunately, Cheetu did not have the patience to meet his game's own conditions. Morel exploited Cheetu's boredom to his advantage and used his purple haze to tie the villain down. As a result, he was able to escape from the room and continue the fight for the NGL.

Bertholdt was similarly outsmarted by Eren and Armin during the second battle for Shiganshina. To make matters worse, he was too timid to serve as a proper leader. As a result, Reiner, Annie, and Zeke made decisions on his behalf. Bertholdt's familiarity with the Colossal Titan is not as useful when considering his weak willpower and attitude.

6 Galand Underestimated His Opponents Too Often (Seven Deadly Sins)

Galand fails to injure escanor Seven Deadly Sins

Willing to fight Meliodas in his prime, Galand left the Ten Commandments in order to hunt him personally. Though thinking he killed the captain, he actually fell victim to one of Merlin's illusions. Considering her prowess as a world-class sorceress, this already bodes poorly for his intelligence.

To make matters worse, he challenged Escanor to trade blows despite what the demon race already knew about him. Should Galand have simply killed Escanor on the spot, he wouldn't have been petrified by his own ability.

4 Jugo Couldn't Think Clearly In His Enhanced State (Naruto)

Jugo from Naruto.

By himself, Jugo was a calm and peaceful man that followed Sasuke out of obligation. However, he entered a feral state when activating his power that put everyone at risk. While enraged, he has no sense of self-preservation to the extent where he will even attempt fighting the Forth Raikage.

It is also suggested that he becomes more resilient to pain since he was able to endure having a kunai shoved through his mouth by Konohomaru. Regardless, his ability to ignore pain does not negate the damage done to his body.

For example, his decision to align with J. Geil put a target on his back and ultimately made what should've been a lethal shot to Avdol, survivable. Similarly, attempting to partner up with Boingo resulted with him shooting himself accidentally.

However, Moonfish did not prioritize any specific target and overestimated his worth. As a result, Tokoyami defeated him with a single punch after entering his feral state. Should Moonfish have taken advantage of his foe's ability, he'd wait for him to turn on his allies before rejoining the fray.

Not only did he ignore the rumors surrounding the captain's legacy, he tried to beat him in a straightforward smackdown and even enhanced his opponent's power by removing his eye patch. Too proud to admit defeat, Nnoitra ultimately got himself killed by continuously provoking Zaraki into battling him.
