Every passing season brings a new batch of anime, each one of them better than the last. Nowadays, crisp animation and amazing voice acting are the norms, but it wasn't always like that. In the '90s and early 2000s, there were tons of anime being made. Many fans look back at those anime through a nostalgic lens, but they definitely weren't as perfect as they could be.

Series like XXXHolic and Naruto are begging to be updated with modern standards. No longer is anime slowly paced with poor animation and dubbing. While remakes are commonplace at this point, it's only natural that a few more anime get the remake treatment as well.

In Ouran Highschool Host Club, Haruhi Fujioka joins the host club of an elite academy. This anime is a favorite amongst shojo fans because of its comedy and romance. Many fans are dying for a second season, however, it would be better for the anime if it got the same treatment as Fruits Basket.

Like Fruits Basket, the original anime differed from the manga in some ways. Instead of creating a second season, the whole series should be revamped with new animation and a story that actually follows the manga.

9 Cardcaptor Sakura Can Revamp The Magical Girl Genre

Cardcaptor Sakura is a magical girl series about Sakura Kinimoto, who is tasked with retrieving missing cards, called Clow Cards, by the guardian of the cards. This early 2000s series was many anime fans' first anime. Although the sequel manga was adapted in 2017, the original series has yet to receive the same treatment.

Remaking this anime with up-to-date animation will bring something new to the magical girl genre. Besides Puella Magi Madoka Magica, there hasn't been a well-received magical girl anime in several years.

Clare From Claymore

Claymore is a series about a half-human woman traveling around a fictional country defeating man-eating demons called youma. Yet another series that finishes before the manga, this anime is due for a remake. It shares similarities with Demon Slayer, which is incredibly popular.

With a female protagonist, it could bring more female representation to shonen anime. Remaking this series would also allow for an updated English dub. English voice actors give a better performance now than in the early 2000s. The animation doesn't need much of an update, but the anime could use a better English cast.

7 XXXHolic Could Use Some New Animation

XXXHolic revolves around a high school student named Kimihiro Watanuki who is constantly plagued by spirits. He meets a fortune-teller named Yuko who agrees to fix his spirit problem if he works for her. This series is unique with a fun cast of characters, however, it is held back by its animation style.

Like One Piece, the characters are long and lanky, but the body proportions are way off. Many fans of anime find it difficult to enjoy this series with its wonky animation. Bringing a modern feel to this anime could breathe new life into it.

6 Zatch Bell! Is The Fantasy Anime Fans Want To See

Zatch bell

In the series Zatch Bell!, Kiyo Takamine teams up with a demon, or momoto, called Zatch. Together, they team up to see who will become the ruler of the demon world. Like Bleach, this anime was discontinued before it could reach its proper end.

Not only were fans of the series disappointed by its abrupt end, but the creator, Makoto Raiku, was also disappointed by this. As a popular series of the early 2000s with unique fantasy elements, this series deserves to have its full story told.

5 Naruto Is In Desperate Need Of Polishing

Naruto is a popular series. It's considered one of the big three, alongside Bleach and One Piece. This doesn't seem like the type of anime that needs a remake, however, many fans forget the original series' terrible pacing and inconsistent animation.

Not to mention the heaps of filler the anime is famous for. If this series was cut down and the animation was improved, the quality could be just as good as Jujutsu Kaisen.

While the series starts off strong, the last two seasons were incredibly disappointing to fans. However, the manga is still praised for its storytelling to this day, so many fans want the series rebooted with a far more faithful adaptation. A petition was even created by fans who desperately want a reboot to be made.

3 Beyblade Needs An Update

Beyblade Tyson and Bladers

Like Yu-Gi-Oh!, Beyblade was originally made to boost toy sales. Even with that, the series is just as nostalgic as Pokémon. The anime has also had several sequels, but none have been as great as the original. This anime follows a team of beybladers who travel across the world competing in tournaments.

Like many anime of the time, it suffers from inconsistent animation and a poor English dub. Even though the first three series focus on the same characters, the animation styles are completely different. The series is in need of a serious upgrade and fans would be thrilled to see it remade.

2 Chobits Suffers The Same Problems As The Original Fruits Basket

Chi in Chobits Anime

Chobits follows Hideki Motosuwa and an android known as a persocom he found in the trash. Although the anime is well-liked, it differs from the original manga. Like Fruits Basket, the anime adaptation of Chobits removed some of the darker tones found in the series.

The animation quality is also low compared to the manga series. With the success of the Fruits Basket reboot, it only makes sense to remake another series that suffered from the same problems.

1 The Promised Neverland Was Ruined By The Second Season

Ray Emma Norman from The Promised Neverland

The Promised Neverland follows a group of children who learn they are being raised to be food for demons. It wasn't all that long ago that this series originally aired on Netflix and at the time, it was incredibly popular. Unfortunately for the anime, its popularity was cut short with the second season's premiere, which heavily deviated from the manga.

To many fans, this promising anime was completely ruined when the second season came out. Rebooting the series instead of creating a third season could fix all the problems created with the second season.
