Everyone has their own tastes, what somebody likes may be something that someone else hates. That's not a bad thing, it's those kinds of tastes that make everyone unique. This applies to the astrological signs as well, and while not everyone under a specific sign may act the same, what is known about them is a good way to pin down what they will like and dislike.

Geminis are known for being smart, adaptable, and fun, so there are plenty of anime movies out there that fit those parameters for them. At the same time though, there's just as many that go the opposite way, which has the higher chance that Geminis will despise the films that do that.

10 WILL HATE: FINAL FANTASY: SPIRITS WITHIN

Dr. Aki Ross from Final Fantasy Spirits Within

This one's probably an easy target considering how widely panned this 2001 movie very loosely based off the popular Final Fantasy video games is. Final Fantasy: Spirits Within is mostly known as being a boring, slow-paced, and cliched sci-fi film that's removed from Final Fantasy's most beloved traits and most likely something Geminis would hate.

It's known that the Gemini Sign likes to be challenged, to spice things up, but Spirits Within isn't really the kind of movie that does that. It definitely tries to, but it only succeeds at being dull, and being bored is one of the things Geminis really don't like.

9 WILL LOVE: PENGUIN HIGHWAY

Penguin HIghway

If one wants to be challenged, a mystery is just the kind of story that can do that for anyone if it's crafted well, and this includes a Gemini. Fortunately, Penguin Highway might just be the kind of out-there mystery, centering around mysterious flightless birds, that might be up to their alley.

A movie about penguins spontaneously appearing might sound strange, but the film also helps by being fun and endearing, and it's perfect for those with a curious side. It's a unique one to be sure and who doesn't love a good mystery?

8 WILL HATE: POKÉMON THE MOVIE: HOOPA AND THE CLASH OF AGES

The Pokémon franchise is massive and there've been quite a number of movies within it, and they're still going. Though like anything that long-running, these movies have had their ups and downs. One of the more recent downs would have to be Pokémon the Movie: Hoopa and the Clash of Ages.

As one of the weaker films in the Pokémon library, this entry sports a nonsense plot, annoying characters (especially the title character, Hoopa), and cliched story beats that have been done in better Pokémon movies. It's just not a very competent movie and one that Geminis might have no patience for.

7 WILL LOVE: PROMARE

Promare Cropped

For those looking for big and over-the-top anime movies, then there might be no better studio to pull that off than Studio Trigger. Known for their explosive anime full of action and humor, Trigger delivered their high energy anime style to the big screen with 2019's Promare.

This movie about firefighters that fight against fiery monsters may sound like the anime Fire Force, but that's where the similarities end. Promare delivers on being a fast-paced, visual spectacle and perfect for those looking for something a little out-there. Since Geminis are sometimes known to have a pretty speedy attitude, this might just be what they're looking for.

6 WILL HATE: THE END OF EVANGELION

End of Evangelion cover - Asuka and Shinji looking at Kaworu's giant head across a red sea

Neon Genesis Evangelion is a series that served as a deconstruction of the mecha genre, as such things aren't always as simple as they appear. This also goes for its first feature film The End of Evangelion which served to wrap up the anime from where it left off. While it has a distinct legacy behind it, it's not a perfect film and clearly not for everyone.

While the first half of the movie is more or less straight forward, the second half is where things get more abstract, as Shinji watches the world morphs into something psychedelic. By this point death and destruction become rampant, and things become very unclear, even the ending is left up to interpretation. It may just be a bit much to decipher, even for a Gemini.

5 WILL LOVE: GHOST IN THE SHELL

Ghost in the Shell is considered a classic movie for anime fans and quite possibly one of the best sci-fi movies out there. Tackling themes of identity and technology, the film portrays a beautiful yet terrifying cyberpunk society where humanity can transcend the physical limitations of their biological bodies.

The animation holds up well after all this time, the setting is fascinating and its interpretation of things like sexuality and gender are unique to this film. It's an intelligent movie and very rewarding for those willing to try and understand it. A nice fit for the inquisitive nature of a Gemini.

4 WILL HATE: BATMAN NINJA

This isn't Batman's first dive into the anime medium, but definitely his stranger if not a gloriously insane foray into it. This movie sees the caped crusader travel to Fuedal Japan, and has to face down some of his greatest foes as a ninja. It's a bizarre premise that really begs the viewer to suspend their disbelief, though not everyone may be inclined to.

The movie is packed to the brim with some crazy interpretations of the Dark Knight and his cast of characters, and a lot of plot points have this feeling of "just go with it" to explain some of its weaker story beats. Some may be able to turn off their brains to have fun with this movie, Geminis might not want to do that.

3 WILL LOVE: COWBOY BEBOP THE MOVIE

Cowboy-Bebop-the-Movie Cropped

Sometimes Geminis are known to want to get together with some friends and maybe make a little noise. If they're looking for a fun movie not afraid to get loud, then Cowboy Bebop The Movie has all the right stuff. The movie sees the bounty hunting crew take on a terrorist with a huge bounty on his head, but as usual, there's more to it than meets the eye.

Keeping all the charm and wit that made the anime such a household name, Cowboy Bebop The Movie nails the portrayal of all the characters and delivers an action-packed sci-fi romp. A solid experience worth getting a posse of friends together for.

2 WILL HATE: WHISPER OF THE HEART

Studio Ghibli has gotten their acclaim for many of their anime films, using their own style and flair, and they've tackled a wide variety of stories. Though one of their calmest has to be Whisper of the Heart, a coming of age story about a bookworm of a girl who works toward finding her own path for the future. Filled with imagination, a sweet love story, and fantastic animation, there's a lot to like about this movie, though it might be a little mundane for Geminis.

Whisper of the Heart is a more down to earth story for Ghibli, and it's by no means a bad film, but maybe it's a little too normal for some viewers that are expecting more. If a Gemini's looking for something to challenge themselves, this is probably not it.

1 WILL LOVE: AKIRA

Another classic praised as one of the greatest anime movies of all time and held in high regard in the cyberpunk genre, Akira is a beautiful and violent movie about a post-apocalyptic future teetering on the edge of chaos. The movie may be haunting at times, but beneath that terror is something truly brilliant that viewers have been praising for years.

While it may differ from its manga counterpart, Akira is quite a sight to behold and engaging on so many levels. Filled with action, a dystopia that's candy for the eyes, and solid themes of corruption and rebellion, if a Gemini is feeling adventurous, there may be no better film than this one.
