Anime is known for having some amazing fights, but no matter how action-packed they are or how great the animation is, many fights tend to be fairly formulaic. In particular, shonen anime has many common tropes that can change a great fight from a nail-biting experience into something rather boring.

10 Levi Shows The Female Titan The Power Of A Human (Attack On Titan)

Levi chases after the Female Titan in Attack On Titan.

Levi from Attack On Titan is an incredibly talented Scout from the moment he's introduced. During his brief fight with the Female Titan, he proves how amazing he is. Levi's unorthodox fighting style proves too much for the Titan and he's able to incapacitate her nearly instantly.

Levi's fighting skills are a treat for viewers, but what really makes his fight with the Female Titan unique is the build-up to it. Countless soldiers die at the hands of the Female Titan, so it's a shock when Levi takes her out and saves Eren at the same time.

9 Madara Vs The Shinobi Forces Blew Fans' Minds (Naruto Shippuden)

Madara during the War Arc of Naruto Shippuden.

Naruto has had some amazing fights over the course of the series and while the fight between Madara and the Shinobi forces in Naruto Shippuden certainly isn't the best fight, it's definitely the most unique. Madara is built up for a long time, so his first instance in battle is a big deal.

Studio Pierrot went all out with the animation so the fighting is incredibly fluid. The tension before Madara attacks and the use of combined jutsu to take on one man really makes this fight interesting. This fight presents the clearest example of Madara's power, which left fans completely mind-blown.

8 Milo & Bisco Beat Tetsujin With Mushrooms (Sabikui Bisco)

Tetsujin is attacked in Rust-Eater Bisco/Sabikui Bisco

Sabikui Bisco, also known as Rust-Eater Bisco, doesn't get a lot of attention, but it has some incredible fight sequences. Instead of throwing punches or using weapons, the characters in this series use mushrooms to fight their enemies. That may seem strange, but it makes complete sense considering the mushrooms are used to cure people of a disease known as rust.

When a giant rust monster called Tetsujin tries to destroy a nearby city, the characters band together using arrows and mushrooms. This fight is surprisingly tense and emotional and it does an amazing job at building tension. It may not have needed the mushrooms to be a good fight, but they certainly make the fight more unique.

7 Gojo's Powers Are Infinte (Jujutsu Kaisen)

Gojo and Jogo fighting in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Most of the fights in Jujutsu Kaisen are incredible, but the fight between Gojo and Jogo stands out from all the rest. Not only is it the first time fans are able to see Gojo's powers as a sorcerer, but it also shows just how out-of-this-world his powers are.

With his cursed technique, Limitless, Gojo is able to control the space around himself down to the atoms. With this power, he is able to make the space around him infinite so it's impossible for Jogo to touch him. On top of that, his innate domain looks like a manga panel come to life. Jogo might be in way over his head when he challenges Gojo, but their battle certainly amazes fans.

6 Yusuke Fights A Deranged Doctor (Yu Yu Hakusho)

Yusuke vs Doctor in Yu Yu Hakusho.

Most of the fights in Yu Yu Hakusho are fun to watch, but they aren't all that unique. Typically, Yusuke takes on powerful opponents and manages to pull out a win despite how close he comes to death. However, his fight with Doctor Kamiya is very different.

Yusuke is obviously stronger than Kamiya, but because he can control his body's chemistry, Kamiya refuses to go down no matter what Yusuke throws at him. It's Yusuke's first time fighting a human and the thought of killing the Doctor causes Yusuke to hold back. The internal battle Yusuke has with himself and the deranged way the doctor acts makes this fight interesting and memorable.

5 Fighting Deku Helped Bakugo Heal (My Hero Academia)

Bakugo vs Deku part 2 in My Hero Academia.

The second fight between Bakugo and Midoriya in My Hero Academia is not just an amazing fight, but it's also an example of great character development. While most fights in anime can be basic when it comes to morals or emotions, this fight lays out the character's feelings towards each other and their situation perfectly.

4 Asta's Fight With Ladros Is A Spectacle (Black Clover)

Asta vs Ladros from Black Clover.

Asta's fight with Ladros in Black Clover may start out as a basic shonen brawl, but it quickly turns into a mashup of color and weird imagery. The fight almost feels like it belongs in a different anime, but that's what makes it so great.

The bright colors and the music do an excellent job of making the fight between Asta and Ladros feel bigger and more intense. Plus, there are several moments of loose animation that make it feel fast and chaotic. It may not be the best fight in Black Clover, but fans can agree that it's certainly the most unique.

3 Body Parts Fly During Koyomi's Fight With Shinobu (Kizumonogatari Part 3: Reiketsu)

Araragi Koyomi vs Oshino Shinobu in Kizumonogatari Part 3: Reiketsu.

Out of context, the fight between Koyomi and Shinobu in Kizumonogatari Part 3: Reiketsu is certainly strange. While anime fans are used to characters flying through buildings without much harm, this movie takes those tropes and turns them on their heads.

The characters in Kizumonogatari Part 3: Reiketsu may be able to continue fighting after massive blows, but that's only because their extremities continue to grow back after being blown off. As the fight goes on, heads and limbs are constantly falling everywhere in one of the bloodiest fights in anime. It's certainly worth watching for the animation, but also because of the ridiculous nature of the fight.

2 Kagami Pushed Past His Limits To Beat Aomine (Kuroko's Basketball)

Kagami Taiga and Aomine Daiki playing basketball, both in the Zone in Kuroko's Basketball.

While most fights in anime are physical brawls, some fights are a battle of determination. Since Kagami and Aomine are the best basketball players in Kuroko's Basketball, a fight between them is inevitable. Even anime fans who find basketball boring will be sitting at the edge of their seats as Kagami and Aomine compete against each other.

The other characters in Kuroko's Basketball can only stand back and watch as Kagami and Aomine push their limits and achieve what no other player has before them. They may not be exchanging blows, but the fight between them is intense and would inspire anyone to try their hand at basketball.

1 Tanjiro Fights A Demon & The Environment (Demon Slayer)

Tanjiro vs Kyogai in Demon Slayer.

Not many anime characters have had to fight a villain and their environment at the same time. When Demon Slayer's Tanjiro invades the demon Kyogai's house, he quickly finds out the demon's abilities not only allow him to change the placement of rooms, but also allow him to change their orientation.

As Tanjiro attempts to attack the demon the room continues to twist and turn, creating one of the most visibly stunning fights in Demon Slayer. The animation and the environment itself are why this fight is so unique. It's definitely become a favorite among fans.
