The anime world is one of the many types of media that creates some of the most unique and fearsome monsters in fiction. These creatures that haunt the dreams of our favorite characters are always larger than life and are definitely usually larger than the very characters we hope to defeat them.

But what about the large monsters that aren't fearsome at all. That's what we'll be looking at with this list. Not every scary monster is scary, in fact, many of them are overall some of the weakest beings present in whatever series they reside in.

10 MONSTER ASSOCIATION

A huge gag in the series One Punch Man is the fact that so many of the actual monstrous beings are actually the weakest in the series. There, of course, are your exceptions to the rule like Garou's transformation but for the most part, most of the members of the Monster Associations are done away with as fast as they appear to reak havoc.

This is seen as early as the first chapters of the manga where despite their gigantic power levels, the monsters are defeated with ease. This isn't even in regards to Saitama's crazy strength, they're just that bad.

9 OOLONG

Many forget that the little piggie buddy of Master Roshi began as an enemy to the heroes of Dragon Ball. Oolong may have been relegated to the sidelines as a character that's only there for a joke every blue moon but when he originally appeared in Dragon Ball he was able to shapeshift and take the form of giant monsters.

While he was able to have the look he didn't have the power, however. Goku took out Oolong with ease after a bit of trouble at first. Now Oolong is where you usually see him. Retired at Roshi's house doing mostly nothing.

8 THE FLORSHIEM KAWASAKI BRANCH

The comedy anime Astro Fighter Sunred is a parody on series like Kamen Rider, Power Rangers, and Super Sentai about a retired Red Ranger of a Sentai superhero team. He tries to go about living his normal life but he's always pestered by the monsters of the Florshiem Kawasaki Branch that consists of your usual tokusatsu monster enemies.

This group has some actual freaky looking guys but lo and behold, they are always easily dispatched and bullied by Sunred. So much so that they beg him to fight him so they have a purpose in life.

7 THE ACTUAL MONSTERS FROM YU YU HAKUSHO

Much like seen in One Punch Man, the monsters in Yu Yu Hakusho aren't much of a threat either. There are, of course, exceptions to this rule like Byakko but for the most part, many of the monsters are nothing to Yusuke and his boys. In fact, many of these actual monsters are early series enemies only there to begin the story and introduce us to the action.

The actual strong characters are actually those that have more human appearances. As the series goes along more and more human-like enemies appear and actually give our boys some trouble.

6 THE HOLLOWS FROM BLEACH

In Bleach the first enemies we are introduced to are just about the most inhuman things we see throughout the series barring a few transformations and other exceptions. These enemies are of course the Hollows, corrupt human spirits that gain supernatural powers and seek to feast on the souls of the living.

While they sound and can also look scary they actually aren't at all. In fact, they are mostly used as villain fodder as they are easily defeated throughout the series. However, they do get upgraded and start causing actual trouble.

5 THE BASE TITANS

AOT titans

It's funny, at the beginning of Attack on Titan we're taught to fear every single type of titan no matter the size or brainpower. Heck, we're sure many of you remember the small big-headed one that terrorized a few of our characters. As the series moves on, however, we're introduced to many more types that make the originals look like babies.

Nowadays with titan transformations and better gear single basic titans are no threat to our heroes as they're done in with a quick slice to the neck. They also are pretty darn stupid so there's that too.

4 KILLER MANTIS

Being based inside a videogame it's a no-brainer to predict that the world of Sword Art Online would be packed full of tons of crazy monsters. One of these monsters is the Killer Mantis that shows up and gets done in just as fast as it popped in. This monster actually looks like it could cause trouble but Kirito bodied one after another.

To make these matters worse, these monsters were straight-up used to grind for EXP. Kirito and his members of Moonlit Black Cats took them out without breaking a sweat.

3 OZARU/THE GREAT APE

Early on in the Dragon Ball series we are introduced to Goku's transformation into a giant ape that is called the Great Ape/Ozaru. This transformation is originally one of the strongest things in the series but seems to get weaker as we move onwards in the Dragon Ball universe.

Nowadays unless it's a transformed Great Ape as seen in many alternate universe Dragon Ball stories, these beings aren't much of a threat despite their immense size. Whereas we saw one giving even Goku trouble in early Dragon Ball Z, if one showed up now it could probably be handled even by Krillin.

2 JOJO'S VAMPIRES

The first two parts of the series JoJo's Bizarre Adventure features tons of battles against vampires due to enemies like Dio Brando and the Pillar Men unleashing them on our heroes. These vampires are some of the most disgusting and horrific enemies we see show up in the series but guess what. They aren't anywhere near the strongest.

These enemies are taken out with ease in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood and the case is no different in the second part, Battle Tendency.

1 KING

He may not look like a monster but many characters believe that he is a monster. Among the heroes in the One Punch Man series in the right moment he is one of the most fearsome in terms of looks due to his height, stare, and awesome scar. He strikes fear into the hearts of heroes and monsters alike just by showing up.

However, even though he is known as a monster to many characters of the series he's nowhere near. King is actually the weakest of all the heroes, having no special abilities and straight-up living a lie.
