Many heroes in anime have a power of some sort. However, not everyone wants to have powers, since they usually come with responsibilities or make life harder in some way. Being normal attracts less attention, which is something characters crave, especially when the attention they get is on the negative side.
These characters still manage to use their powers to their advantage in some way, and some either find a way to achieve normalcy or commit to using their powers for the greater good. Although they want to be normal, the fact that they aren't often is crucial in saving the day.

With the addition of cat-like behaviors, like a sudden love for fish and always landing on her feet, Ichigo was paranoid that her crush would think she was strange.

Ryuken absolutely hated the fact that he was a Quincy. His wife died after the Quincy leader drained her of her powers, and his father died after the Shinigami purged most of the Quincies, fearing that the Quincy would throw the world out of balance with their powers.
Ryuken felt that if they weren't Quincies, they wouldn't have suffered through all of this. Ryuken didn't seem like a hero at first, but he contributed to the defeat of Yhwach and helped his son regain the powers he lost.

Naruto decided to become a Hokage in order to make his village accept him, since he knew that was the closest he could get to being "normal".
