Usually, it's considered a redeeming quality when a character can be reasoned with. It makes them seem even tempered and relatable, especially since they are not too caught up in their own agenda to consider a new perspective.

10 Sakura Would Do Anything For Sasuke

Naruto

Naruto Sakura and Sasuke

Out of all Naruto characters, Sakura was the most devoted to Sasuke. She overlooked his numerous attempts to kill her and betray the Leaf, even volunteering to join him on his vengeful crusade at multiple points throughout the story. To this end, Sakura will refuse to compromise or listen to anyone else.

She even attempted to emotionally manipulate Naruto in order to increase Sasuke's chances of coming home. What she failed to realize amidst her obsession was that Naruto is equally committed to him.

9 Gon Will Actively Harm Himself When Pursuing His Dream

Hunter X Hunter

Gon fights Hanzo hunter x hunter

Although the way Gon chases his dream is admirable, it necessitates more plot armor than any other Hunter X Hunter character to work. For example, he refused to back down against Hanzo despite the man saying he was going to cut off his arms and legs.

Gon was equally unreasonable when Killua tried to pull him away from killing Neferpitou. Torn apart by Kite's death and the chimera ant's manipulation, he placed a nen condition on himself that significantly increased his power nearly costing him his life.

8 Luffy Is Driven By His Emotions

One Piece

Zoro vs Luffy

One Piece's Luffy is so dangerously driven by his emotions that it calls his credibility as captain into question. In the Whiskey Peak incident, he saw Zoro attacking his "hosts" and immediately came to their defense.

Despite how Zoro attempted to convince him of their murderous intentions, Luffy refused to see reason until being interrupted by Baroque Works agents. He was equally stubborn at Whole Cake Island when demanding Sanji come back to the crew even if it put Zeff and everyone else on the Baratie in mortal danger.

Akame Ga Kill!

As the leader of Akame Ga Kill's! Night Raid organization, it takes a level of stubbornness to fulfill Najenda's role. However, she takes all issues to extremes and refuses to compromise on anything.

For example, she forced Tatsumi into the organization after saving him and refused to let him go home. Najenda was also perfectly comfortable with ordering her own people to their deaths, even going as far as making them their "preferred last meal" since she was so unenthusiastic in their odds of survival. Nonetheless, Najenda does not ask them to make sacrifices she wouldn't do herself.

6 Kenpachi's Only Allegiance Is To Strength

Bleach

Kenpachi leering in the Bleach anime.

Kenpachi Zaraki's obsession with strength blurs Bleach's lines between hero and villain. He sees everything as a challenge, which makes it particularly difficult for Ichigo to reason with him. To the captain, he is much more interested in a fulfilling fight than a conversation and will sometimes provoke others toward that end.

Kenpachi will also follow his own whims over the Soul Society's. During the Espada arc, he intended to spare Nnoitra because he didn't feel like killing him. No other shinigami captain had such a prerogative.

5 Bakugo Loses His Temper Quickly

My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia - Bakugo in his hero costume

Out of all the leads in My Hero Academia, Bakugo is the hardest to reason with. He was so insecure about his power level that he needed to be restrained as he received his reward at the Sports Festival. He also has no sense of discretion, as seen when lashing out against Shiagarki despite being surrounded by villains.

During the Remedial Licensing arc, Bakugo showed progress in his development as a pro. However, it's still almost impossible for anyone except All Might himself to get through to him.

4 None Of Eren's Friends Could Change His Mind About The Rumbling

Attack On Titan

A closeup shot of Eren Yeager from Attack on Titan with Titan scars under his eyes and his long hair pulled into a bun.

In the beginning of Attack On Titan, Eren was an impressionable boy who allowed himself to be swayed by others. During the forest chase with Annie Leonhart, Levi told him that he needed to rely on his own judgment in some instances.

Since then, Eren has taken that advice to heart. After learning the truth about the world beyond the walls, he was convinced that the only way to secure Eldian peace was complete global destruction. In the end, not even Mikasa or Armin could change his mind about his mission.

3 Baki Goads People Until They Fight Him

Baki

Oliva and guevara vs baki

Baki's titular protagonist may be charismatic, though he is also equally arrogant. In his quest to become the world's strongest fighter, he will actively provoke martial artists that he feels can give him a good challenge. This got him in trouble with Oliva and Guevara, who got sick of his behavior and simultaneously knocked him out.

Despite Oliva's attempts to reason with Baki as a professional, he continued to goad him even from solitary confinement. Ultimately, not even the prison guards could stop Baki from taunting Oliva into a fight.

2 Polnareff Ignored His Friends' Advice & Almost Got Killed

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

Jean Pierre Polnareff from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders.

It didn't take long after Polnareff was introduced for him to prove himself as the most stubborn hero in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. He was so fixated on avenging his sister's death that he confronted two enemy Stand users without his allies or knowing their abilities.

Polnareff's overconfidence would have got him killed if not for Avdol's watchful vigil. However, he did not lose his sense of recklessness, as seen through his fights against Vanilla Ice and Diavolo.

1 Inosuke Can Barely Be Restrained

Demon Slayer

Inosuke Running Demon Slayer

Inosuke is more unreasonably aggressive than many of the monsters Tanjiro encounters in Demon Slayer. Obsessed with showboating and proving himself, Inosuke acts on instinct and throws himself into the midst of battle regardless of the opponent.

It took a near-death experience against Rui's spider-demon patriarch for Inosuke to realize he was only just a man. Although admitting his weakness in the hospital, he has no plans to change his personality. Instead, Inosuke hopes to become stronger so that his brawn will match his bluster.
