A huge utility of working within the anime industry is the fact that working with two-dimensional characters often means that catering budgets can often be tight. However, there are a few major exceptions within the anime world that more than eat their weight in a buffet. One of the most beloved tropes in anime, the heavy eater and insatiable appetite often has anime characters at their wackiest, with even some of the most stoic and endearing figures being seen stuffing their faces with all manner of meats and ramen.

With the industry's infamous propensity to make drawn food look so delicious, can anyone really be mad at any of these anime characters? Jealous maybe, sure. But mad? Yes, but not by much. This list will be conducting one of the most dangerous eating contests their is, as it runs down some of the most unbelievable appetites in anime.

10 Hawk (The Seven Deadly Sins)

It should say a lot about the other members of this list that they're ranking within the same lines as a literal pig. Despite his name, Hawk is the furthest thing from an agile bird.

He is the loyal partner to Meliodas during his solo travels after the break up of the Sins and is essentially the trash disposal heap for all the scraps of the Boar Hat. Considering Meliodas' cooking, Hawk must have a cast-iron stomach to be able to handle all the food he's eaten, good and made by Meliodas.

9 No-Face (Spirited Away)

A figure that both enchanted and horrified young children who thought that watching this Japanese cartoon would be fun, No-Face was one the best contrasts to Chihiro's innate innocence. His vie for close attention and eventual fall to incredible gluttony would disgust and horrify in a variety of ways.

After consuming a greedy fog who happened to be stalking the bathhouse at night, No-Face would consume him and take on a loud and gluttonous personality who only sought to consume as much food and luxury as possible, expending plenty of magical, fool's gold to do so.

8 Sasha Braus (Attack on Titan)

It is commendable for any human being who is still able to retain an appetite after seeing what the fans of Attack on Titan have seen. Sasha Braus is one of the most elite soldiers of the team, along with being its most trouble-making, heavy eater.

Managing to constantly eat even during training and having the audacity to even steal provisions from her officers, Sasha's insatiable hunger is only rivaled by the monstrously insatiable gluttons they call Titans that threaten her land.

7 Kagura (Gintama)

Kagura was never a rich girl. She was raised humbly by her alien bounty hunter father and later less humbly but even more broke under the household of Sakata Gintoki. Despite her situation, all of this just served to make her even more spoiled of a child. When she's not seen munching on gratuitous amounts of seaweed, Kagura can be seen wasting Odd Jobs resources on her own appetite, either making simple egg rice or competing with her fellow workmates for their rare get of good food.

When she does get access to a plethora of food, such as within Madao's unfortunate ex-restaurant, she will take the full opportunity to take everything and gorge herself in extravagant food, even the likes of a giant piece of sushi.

6 C.C. (Code Geass)

C.C. is the ad girl that Pizza Hut can only wish they had hired. Though she is the confidant to Lelouch and the keeper of an ancient power, C.C. is prone to the same weaknesses as other people and is privy to a piping, hot slice of pizza every now and then.

However, under Lelouch's vast resources, she is able to surround herself in a strong variety and constant stream of pizza that would make kids everywhere drool. Seriously, though, Pizza Hut, hire her. She's worth the revolution.

5 Gluttony (Fullmetal Alchemist)

When the people on this list are competing with both a pig and the literal personification of gluttony, someone really needs to look in a mirror and reevaluate their life choices.

The Sin of Gluttony is exactly as advertised. He is an insatiable homunculus whose razor-sharp mouth can munch on anything and whose stomach is a giant, hellscape of blood and excess. He is often found uncontrollably eating all manner of food and enemies, as he stood as one of the series' most consistently horrifying figures.

4 Toriko (Toriko)

Toriko gets a pass for his overeating considering the fact that it is a huge part of his job. As a Gourmet Hunter, it is Toriko's job to scavenge the world for some of its rarest and most delicious flavors, as he sets out to complete his perfect "Full Course Meal." What this entails is danger-filled adventures in treacherous landscapes that see him cut through vines and dig through the earth for the most delicious item.

Then, he gorges himself in its decadence, reveling in the flavors and hungering for even more. A danger to both his favorite restaurants and his most delicious enemies, Toriko's jaw is a weapon of mass destruction.

3 Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)

Monkey D. Luffy is a Shounen protagonist who was just destined to be a heavy eater. With the powers of the Gum Gum Fruit, his stomach literally has the boundless elasticity to handle fantastical proportions of food.

This makes sense considering that the wildlife of One Piece is filled with all manner of giant mammals, giant fish, and giant birds. Often heard crying for meat and other food, Luffy is not as much of a threat to opposing pirates and Marines, as he is to his beloved cook.

2 Choji Akimichi (Naruto)

In a world of magical ninjas, Choji Akimichi has dedicated a huge portion of his skill set to eating and expanding his stomach. What a legend. Though Naruto Uzumaki could've easily landed on this list for his famous relationship with ramen, Choji manages to steal the spot by eating Naruto under the table in more than one occasion and steal having room to munch on his iconic chips.

Let all those who dare to call him "fat" or "piggy" beware, as his stomach alone is more than enough to defend itself.

1 Son Goku (Dragon Ball)

Son Goku gets a well-deserved spot on this list for practically influencing and defining the over-eating, Shounen protagonist aesthetic. For decades, the beloved, spiky-haired boy in orange has been devastating the wallets of his friends and the kitchens of restaurants with his literally, otherworldly appetite.

Munching on both bowls of rice and giant mounds of meat alike, Goku has more than tested his Saiyan hunger against the endless appetites of alien wizards and gods alike. Though he is the savior of the universe, no one should be rewarding this man with a limitless supply of food. He'd really take up the offer.
