10 Captain Soi Fon Didn't Easily Forgive Yoruichi For Disappearing (Bleach)

Captain Soi Fon (also known as Sui-Feng) of squad 2 is a cold and aloof professional, and she doesn't typically make things personal during a mission. She is a trained assassin who must leave personal feelings out of a fight, but then there's the matter of her best friend, Yoruichi Shihoin.

Years ago, Soi Fon's beloved teacher and commander, Yoruichi, vanished without a word, and Soi Fon was devastated for many reasons. She grew bitter and resentful, and formed a grudge against her seemingly thoughtless commander. When the two women crossed paths again, Soi Fon attacked with all her might until the fight ended in a standstill. Yoruichi was finally forgiven.

9 Uryu Ishida Hates Mayuri Kurotsuchi & Soul Reapers In General (Bleach)

Soi Fon wasn't the only Bleach character to hold a grudge. The young Quincy archer Uryu Ishida inherited a long-standing grudge and feud against the Soul Reapers, since the Quincy tribe was nearly wiped out by the Soul Reapers in previous generations.

Uryu had particular hatred for Captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi, who made things personal when he captured, experimented upon and killed Uryu's grandfather, Soken Ishida. Eventually, though, Uryu let go of this grudge, and he even helped Ichigo take out the Quincy king, Yhwach.

8 Dio Brando Hated Jonathan Joestar (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)

Dio Brando was born into poverty with an alcoholic single father, Dario, and he hated it all. Even worse, Dio was aware of the wealthy and influential Joestar family, and he made it his mission to tear down the entire Joestar estate and take away everything Jonathan Joestar and his father George had.

At times, Dio kept his grudge hidden under a polite and cooperative façade, such as when he and Jonathan played sports together. However, his grudge soon turned deadly, and he poisoned George before donning the stone mask to become a vampire. He and Jonathan became sworn enemies with no chance of reconciliation.

7 Levi Ackerman Couldn't Stand Zeke (Attack On Titan)

Captain Levi Ackerman is noted for his stern and merciless nature, and he doesn't typically forgive anyone who crosses him, not even a former friend. Eventually, Levi and the Beast Titan wielder, Zeke Yeager, became enemies, and they clashed at Shiganshina.

Later, Zeke and Levi became reluctant partners, but Levi still hated Zeke and made his antipathy toward Zeke clear. Later still, Zeke made his move, and Levi took this chance to strike down his hated enemy without remorse. His grudge against Zeke was finally satisfied.

6 Shoto Couldn't Stand His Father (My Hero Academia)

Shoto Todoroki is a gifted student who was born with a dual-element Quirk, but all this natural talent came at cost. He is the product of a Quirk marriage, and his hero father Endeavor pushed him incredibly hard to surpass All Might someday. Endeavor was a tyrant in his household for years on end.

Shoto eventually broke away from Endeavor as a U.A. student, and he refused to use his fire powers to spite his father. Shoto also made it clear that he would become the #1 hero his own way, and for his own reasons. He would take any chance to get back at his father.

5 Sasuke Uchiha Wanted Itachi Dead (Naruto)

Eventually, this brotherly grudge was resolved positively, but for years on end, Sasuke absolutely hated his murderous brother Itachi, and hung on tightly to his grudge. As Itachi once told him, Sasuke used that grudge to fuel his rage and skills alike, to gain the power necessary to kill Itachi someday.

Sasuke lost badly to Itachi when they finally met up again, but the brothers had a rematch in Shippuden, and things went differently. By that time, Sasuke learned the truth of the Uchiha clan, and his priorities and perspective changed considerably.

4 Kagura Mikazuchi Has A Score To Settle With Jellal (Fairy Tail)

Kagura Mikazuchi is a master swordswoman and a member of the Mermaid Heel guild, and for the most part, she puts duty first and tries to not make things too personal. But that all changes when it comes to Jellal Fernandez, who is responsible for the death of Kagura's brother, Simon.

Kaguara was in no mood to forgive Jellal, even though Jellal wasn't such a bad person deep down. In fact, Kagura wanted to kill Jellal personally, and given her firepower, anyone should be afraid of a grudge held by Kagura Mikazuchi. She's a wizard who can fight on par with Erza Scarlet and Minerva Orland.

3 Near & Mello Wanted Revenge On Kira (Death Note)

The vicious criminal Mello had his own one-sided rivalry with Near, but they weren't always at each other's throats. Near and Mello still have a few things in common, including their adoration of the original L. Because of that, they both absolutely hate Kira for killing L.

Near and Mello share a grudge against Kira, and neither of them will forgive Kira for L's demise. Their methods and personalities differ, but they agree that Kira cannot be forgiven, and sure enough, Near ended the grudge when Light lost to him and died at Ryuk's hands.

2 Misaki Ayuzawa Resented Her Father (Maid-Sama!)

Misaki Ayuzawa is the hardworking student council president at Seika high school, and she also secretly works at a lovely maid café. But there is more to her than that. Misaki deeply resents her father Sakuya for abandoning the family and leaving behind massive debt, forming a grudge in the process. When Sakuya returned, it took time for Misaki to accept him back into her life.

Misaki also developed a general dislike and mistrust of boys and men in general, in light of her father abandoning her, her little sister Suzuna, and their mother. Misaki did make some exceptions, though, such as her male childhood friend Hinata. Eventually, all these grudges faded away.

1 Kyo Sohma Always Feuded With His Father (Fruits Basket)

Kyo Sohma is a male tsundere who is quick to react badly to insults or challenges, but his real grudge lays within his family, in particular, his unpleasant father. Kyo's father blamed his son for the death of his wife, and Kyo deeply resented these accusations. A grudge soon formed between father and son.

Kyo confronted his father again later in the story of Fruits Basket, and Kyo really stood up for himself, which shocked his verbally abusive father. Fortunately, Kyo soon moved on, and he also had supportive people in his life to rely on, such as his mentor Kazuma and his best friend turned lover, Tohru Honda.
