Akatsuki is the villain organization from Naruto. It consisted of extremely powerful rogue ninjas who banded together in order to accomplish their goal of launching the Infinite Tsukuyomi. They recruited rogue ninjas, who were capable of fighting tailed beasts. The threat of the Akatsuki drove fear into the hearts of the Five Great Shinobi Nations.

The Akatsuki was headed by Pein. They managed to gather seven tailed beasts, which is a really big feat. Sasuke brought a fragment of the Eight-Tails. However, they failed to capture any part of the Nine-Tails. In this post, we shall take a look at five anime characters who would join the esteemed Akatsuki and five who wouldn't.

10 Would Join: Shigaraki Tomura

Shigaraki is the main villain from My Hero Academia. He made his first appearance in the very first season of the anime and since then his influence has only continued to increase. Shigaraki hates All Might as he's the Symbol of Peace. His main aim was to defeat All Might and thus, crush people's hopes. Shigaraki's quirk would add another dimension to the Akatsuki, but there might be a problem with him working as he doesn't like taking orders from other people.

9 Wouldn't Join: Donquixote Doflamingo

doflamingo in one piece

Doflamingo is arguably the best villain in One Piece. He was the ruler of Dressrosa before his reign was cut short by Luffy and Law's interference. He was one of Kaido's most important business partners.  Doflamingo's evil charisma makes him a fearful person to fight. He possesses the Ito Ito no Mi, which allows him to create and manipulate strings. Doflamingo is not the kind of person who would join an organization that pursues peace instead he would much rather wreak havoc by himself.

8 Would Join: Sonic

Sonic is the ninja from One Punch Man. He was first introduced in the first season. Sonic is an incredible ninja who doesn't take losses nicely. Ever since his loss to Saitama, Sonic has been consistently training to improve his skills. If Sonic were to join the Akatsuki, he would get to learn from his comrades and work on his abilities.

It is pretty clear that Sonic is willing to use any method in order to become stronger. He even took the monster cell in order to gain ground on Saitama. So, this would prove to be a very good opportunity for Sonic to learn and grow.

7 Wouldn't Join: Muzan

Muzan Kibutsuji, the Demon King, glaring off-screen during the first season of the Demon Slayer anime

Muzan is the main antagonist from Demon Slayer. He was responsible for messing up Tanjiro's life and killing almost his entire family. To rub salt into Tanjiro's wounds, he turned Nezuko into a demon. Muzan is the strongest demon in existence and it is not surprising that he can destroy other demons pretty easily. The reason that Muzan can't join the Akatsuki is that he has a big ego. His big ego would get in the way as he is not accustomed to taking orders from other people.

6 Would Join: Enrico Pucci

Next up on the list is Enrico Pucci. Pucci is from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean. He is one of the best characters in the JoJo series. Pucci seems like an ordinary priest, but there were plenty of mysteries surrounding him. Pucci's life changed when he met DIO. Pucci was inspired by DIO and he decided that he would achieve "Heaven." Pucci's plan was flawlessly and he managed to increase the power of his stand. Originally, his stand was White Snake, but it evolved first into C-Moon and then into Made in Heaven. Pucci didn't desire to rule over the world, but he wanted to create a better world. So, he will very likely join the Akatsuki.

5 Wouldn't Join: Kawaki

Kawaki Destroys Konohagakure in the future

Kawaki's first appearance left the entire Naruto fandom in awe. He made a statement in which he proclaimed that the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki, had been sent to some other place. As Boruto progressed, more and more information became available. Kawaki actually bonded very nicely with Naruto.

He respects Naruto and it is fair to say that he would want to be like him. Kawaki's powers would be make him a valuable asset to any organization, but at the moment, it definitely seems like that he wouldn't join an evil organization.

4 Would Join: Yagami Light

Light Yagami/Kira holding the Death Note and smiling in the Death Note anime

Yagami Light's life changed after he picked up an extraordinary notebook. The notebook was actually a "Death Note." After witnessing the power of the Death Note, Light decided that he would rid the world of impurities. He started a mass killing spree, and he only killed notorious criminals who were a threat to the society. However, Light was stopped when L intervened, and what ensued was a battle of wits. Light managed to edge L in the end.

3 Wouldn't Join: Griffith

Griffith was the leader of Band of Hawk at one point. He was a man with lofty ambitions. He wanted to have his own empire, but when his dream slowly started to crumble, he sacrificed his entire group in order to prevent it from collapsing completely. He was reborn as one of the members of the God Hand and he was overflowing with power. Currently, Griffith is well and truly on his way to building a fantastic kingdom, so he would rather not get involved with the Akatsuki.

2 Would Join: Thorkell

Thorkell has only one purpose in his life and that is to fight. He is one of the few people who would fight against the odds if it provided them with an intense battle. Thorkell's might was only second to Thors. If he joined the Akatsuki, he would undoubtedly prove to be a valuable asset to them. He will carry out every task if he gets to kill as many people as he desires, but if he is stopped from having fun, it could have some serious repercussions.

1 Wouldn't Join: Zeldris

Zeldris tilts his head to the side in confusion in The Seven Deadly Sins

The final character on the list is Zeldris. He is the son of the Demon King and Meliodas' brother. He became the leader of the Ten Commandments after Meliodas' betrayal. Zeldris is extremely powerful and he is capable of going up against several strong fighters at once. His unique abilities make him a tough opponent. Zeldris is unaccustomed to carrying out orders, which can cause a rift between him and his comrades if he were to join the Akatsuki.
