Animal Crossing: New Horizons is reprinting a series of Amiibo cards that added a unique set of furniture to the game in collaboration with Sanrio. These will bring new furniture, villagers and clothing for players to populate their island paradises with. The cards were first introduced for New Leaf in 2016 with, and while they already work with New Horizons, players haven't been able to get the villagers and furniture that were featured in New Leaf.

Soon, following an upcoming patch on March 18, players will be able to use existing or new Sanrio Amiibo cards to obtain the Sanrio items and characters. This will actually be the first time Western players will be able to obtain these, as the cards were not originally released outside of Japan.

Sanrio Amiibo cards Animal Crossing

The Amiibo cards will be rereleased on March 26 and available at select retailers. Players can expect new sets of furniture and items themed around different Sanrio characters, as well as new villagers based on Sanrio characters. There are six cards total, each of which includes a villager and a set of themed furniture.

The first set features a peppy gorilla villager named Rilla, and is themed around the character Hello Kitty. Rilla's furniture set includes a bed, clock, potted plant, table and chair, with all of the furniture coming in a white, red and blue color scheme. Fans should also expect plenty of furniture items to feature Hello Kitty's face or face shape in some way, such as a rug that depicts the character winking.

The second furniture set is themed around Pompompuri, with the villager representing him being a lazy cub named Marty. His furniture is all colored with shades of orange and brown, similar to Pompompuri's design, and they are dessert-themed. This includes what looks to be an end table with a collection of sweets displayed on top.

Inspired by the twins, Kiki and Lala, the next set of furniture is themed around stars and rainbows. The villager included, Étoile, is a sheep with a normal personality type who is mostly pink, blue and yellow. This furniture set stands out since its items are far less focused on the Sanrio character and more-so the character's aesthetic.

The fourth card has lots of cozy furniture items themed around Cinnamoroll, whose face is prominently featured on a couch and a decorative tea-cup. The villager here is Chai, a peppy elephant who has a tea-cup for a hat.

Chelsea, a normal dear villager, is included with the fifth card. These items are based around My Melody and are mostly focused on bunnies and hearts. The color palette matches the furniture's inspiration, with tons of pinks, reds and whites. One particular item of note includes a bunny bed that features My Melody's face on the backboard.

Finally, there's the furniture set based on the frog character Kerokerokeroppi. This comes with a lot of feudal-Japan-styled items that would look perfect set up alongside a koi pond. The included villager is the rabbit Toby, a smug villager that has a fairly similar expression to Kerokerokeroppi.

These furniture sets should be identical to those included in New Leaf, just like the characters they accompany. The Amiibo cards will release on March 26, and the free update will launch March 18, meaning those with previously released copies will be able to beginning scanning them and unlocking the new content a week early.
