Animal Crossing: New Horizons players can celebrate Festivale -- the in-game equivalent of Carnivale -- on Monday, Feb. 15. Returning NPC Pavé will host, and players will be tasked with catching various colored feathers to give him, in exchange for special dances and holiday items. This event will function similarly to Halloween and Thanksgiving, with players essentially going on fetch quests to receive rewards.

Ahead of the actual event (which cannot be unlocked via time travel), players can acquire almost the entire Festivale furniture set and festive clothing at Nook's Cranny and the Ables Sisters tailors shop, respectively. To purchase these items and participate in this event, players will need to have upgraded Nook's Cranny and unlocked the Resident Services building with Isabelle.

Festivale Furniture in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons players celebrate Festivale

There are 10 total Festivale furniture set items available in New Horizons, but only nine are available for purchase at Nook's Cranny. The final item, the Festivale Float, can only be acquired from Pavé on the day of the event, as a grand prize (similar to the Spooky Carriage from Halloween). The Festivale Float also comes in just one color variant, unlike the rest of the set.

Prior to Festivale, players can purchase these furniture items from Nook's Cranny:

  • Festivale Balloon Lamp (4,000 Bells)
  • Festivale Confetti Machine (5,000 Bells)
  • Festivale Drum (2,100 Bells)
  • Festivale Flag (1,300 Bells)
  • Festivale Garland (4,000 Bells)
  • Festivale Lamp (1,500 Bells)
  • Festivale Parasol (2,500 Bells)
  • Festivale Stage (6,000 Bells)
  • Festivale Stall (3,000 Bells)

Each player will have a different color variant available in their shop. These furniture items are customizable at any workbench, but players will need to catch Rainbow Feathers on the day of the event to alter their Festivale furniture. Feathers will float down from the sky and can be caught with a net, similar to snowflakes, leaves and cherry blossom petals. There are five color variants for each item: Blue, green, purple, red and rainbow.

The Festivale Balloon Lamp, Festivale Confetti Machine and Festivale Lamp are interactive, in that players can turn them on or off by standing in front of them and pushing A. The Festivale Drum is also interactive and will make percussive noise, similar to the other in-game instruments. The Festivale Stage lights up at night and will swirl feathers around the player's feet if they stand on it.

From Feb. 1 to Feb. 15, New Horizons players can purchase one Festivale furniture item per day at the upgraded Nook's Cranny. It is possible to time travel to get additional items. The Viva Festivale Reaction Set can be purchased once, for 19,800 Bells, and includes four themed reactions: Feelin' It, Let's Go, Viva and Confetti.

Festivale Clothing and Accessories in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

A player shows off their Festivale outfit in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Beginning Feb. 1, the Ables Sisters tailors shop will carry Festivale clothing and accessories. Each one comes in four colors -- blue, red, purple and green -- and will be available on random days for the first two weeks of February. There's no limit to how many of each item players can buy, and these will also be available through the Nook Shopping catalog for additional purchases.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons players can purchase the Festivale Tank Dress for 2,600 Bells, the Festivale Costume for 2,600 Bells and the Festivale Accessory, a feathered headpiece, for 2,240 Bells. These can be worn by the player, displayed on mannequins, hung on the walls of the player's home, or gifted to villagers.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available now for Nintendo Switch. The Festivale event will take place all day on Monday, Feb. 15.
