Now that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been out for a while now, fans are settling in with the casual life sim. It has gotten rave reviews from every corner of the internet, and players are spending tons of their quarantine time vibing with this surprisingly deep game. Nintendo isn't satisfied leaving New Horizons out there to go stale, however, and new content is on the way. Data miners think they have found clues to exactly what new stuff we will see on an island near you.

Data miner Ninji made an incredibly revealing Twitter thread about what data miners like himself have found. Often code is placed into the game ahead of time and only activated in updates later on. It makes things much easier for developers and gives those interested a peek at what's to come for the game itself.

The next big update is coming in April and May, but not long after that, we should be getting the things that Ninji has found, or possibly alongside some of these updates.

Farming is something that players have wanted to be part of the game for a while now, and growing your own vegetables is going to be here soon. The game looks to include vegetables such as tomato, wheat, sugar cane, pumpkin, carrot, and potato. For a game that seems to have it all, one would think farming would already be inside this game, but now it will be. It isn't clear what exactly the player will be able to do with these vegetables, but most likely make some food for yourself or the other islanders. Along with farming, new plants will be available to grow on your island, such as azalea bushes and hydrangea.

Two new upgrades for the museum will become available. These upgrades will include the ability to show off various art pieces which will liven up the museum for those that have collected everything, and for those that want a more traditional museum experience in their games. The art section of the museum has already been confirmed via new screenshots for the upcoming updates, so that bodes well for the rest of the items in the data leak. The museum should be getting some sort of shop, possibly for the standard museum knick nacks, and a museum cafe. After all, its always nice to have a snack and a drink with your viewing experience.

One of the biggest reveals in this data leak is an entirely new section in the Critterpedia. With just bugs and fish so far, the section has felt a little lackluster up to this point despite having many different entries to fill up. The new section will apparently be called "Seafood." It seems strange as a section is already called Fish, but this new one will have 33 different entries, and players can expect things like the manila clam to be included. Data mining can only tell us so much, but this section will undoubtedly lead to some animals roaming on the beach finally. Alongside the Seafood section will be the ability to dive in the water to retrieve creatures and seaweed that are found deeper in the ocean than the surface-level fish we have been catching. However, there's no mention of whether diving will be a new ability or will require an item to accomplish.

With the announcements straight from Nintendo about what is upcoming and these data mines, it is clear that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has plenty in store for it's dedicated player-base.
