Animal Crossing: New Horizons offers a wealth of items to collect, villagers to meet and tasks to complete. In addition to in-game resources to help players keep track of what they've acquired -- like the Critterpedia App and Nook Shopping Catalog -- the Animal Crossing fandom has also created a number of even more in-depth resources for players who want to do absolutely everything in the New Horizons universe.

These fan-made resources include a Twitter hashtag for patterns and designs that can be acquired at the Customization Kiosk inside the Able sisters' shop, free mobile apps to track critters and villagers and a complete item catalog -- which even lists items that aren't yet available in-game (such as zodiac pieces from throughout the year and their corresponding DIY crafts). Below are just some of these fan-made Animal Crossing resources, which completionists might want to grab to track their game progress.

Creating custom patterns in Animal Crossing: New Horizons allows players to effectively make anything they want for decorating their islands. Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can access the Customization Kiosk inside the Able sisters' shop, which allows them to upload their own designs or download from others by searching design and creator codes.

To make custom patterns easier to find, Twitter users created the #ACNHDesign hashtag. Browsing the tag reveals sand art designs, carpet patterns (like the Arcade Carpet above, by Twitter user @googiebot3000), dresses, sweaters, overalls, pathways, garden signs, recreations of classic art and more. Individual Twitter accounts, like @PatternsACNH, retweet and share from the tag on a daily basis.

The possibilities are endless, but unfortunately, the Custom Design app in-game only allows players to save so many patterns -- so some discretion when bookmarking and downloading is advised.

ACNH Guide Apps

Guide for Animal Crossing NH App by Gene Allister Sy

Players who want better tracking capability than they get in the Critterpedia may want to consider downloading an ACNH guide app. A quick search in the iOS App Store reveals at least four of these apps and the majority of them are free. Each one is formatted a little differently, so interested players may need to download more than one to find the app that meets their style and needs.

We recommend "Guide for Animal Crossing NH" by Gene Allister Sy, which allows players to track which fish and bugs they've caught and/or donated, as well as fossils they've donated. Additionally, this app has villager tracking, so players can mark their favorites and keep track of who's living on their islands, including their birthdays. Opening the app at any given time of day will reveal which bugs and fish are catchable at that moment and if players click for more information, they can learn where to catch each critter as well.

Nook Plaza Item Catalog

Nook Plaza

In-game, the Nook Shopping Catalog allows players to see what furniture and clothing they have already acquired, including color variations. This includes items that are purchasable through the catalog as well as items that are only available through DIY crafting. However, players will have a hard time figuring out what items they want but have not acquired using any of the provided tools in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Enter Nook Plaza, a free, fan-made item catalog that currently lists 5,199 items, complete with color and pattern variations. At the bottom of the site, a link to a data spreadsheet allows anyone to contribute to the catalog, which makes it an amalgamation of information from players all over the world -- whether they play one day at a time or time travel to acquire items and upgrades at a faster pace. Because of how the site is structured, it's potentially the most complete item catalog available for New Horizons, which is quite a feat.

Players can mark their favorites at nookplaza.net to keep track of their personal wishlists, or simply view items by category in order to get a feel for what's available.
