An Animal Crossing player recreated the famous "Zero to Hero" musical number from Disney's animated Hercules movie using New Horizons settings and character.

ACNH Disney Resort posted the video to YouTube, saying "This has got to be the most challenging edit I've done so far. I spent two months planning, creating all the backgrounds and items, filming at Harv's Island and then putting it all together. I thought this was going to be impossible to re-create, but I wanted to prove myself wrong. As Phil said to Hercules, 'Giving up is for rookies.'"

Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, 1997's Hercules was an animated re-imagining of the eponymous demigod's origin story, combining animation inspired by Greek vase paintings with Oscar-nominated songs written by Alan Menken and David Zippel. While not as successful as other movies from the 1990s Disney Animation Renaissance, Hercules was still a modest box office hit that earned positive reviews and has increased in popularity in the decades since its release. A stage musical based on the film was announced in 2017 and is currently being repurposed for a run on Broadway.

Last year, Disney revealed it is also working on a live-action version of Hercules, with Dave Callaham (Wonder Woman 1984, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) onboard to write the script. Anthony and Joe Russo, who are attached as producers, confirmed the movie wouldn't be a shot-for-shot retelling of the animated Hercules in May 2020. "Well, I think you always have to bring something new to the table because from our perspective as storytellers, it's not compelling for us to do a literal translation," said Anthony Russo, adding, "We've already done that with our Marvel films. We don't do literal translations of the comics because we feel like if you want that story you can go read that story."

More recently, Joe Russo confirmed the script for the Hercules remake is finished, saying "We’ve taken a lot of time and care with it." He also indicated Disney hopes to use the film to launch a live-action Hercules franchise in the vein of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. “They want to see something really cool that they wanna get lost in it for a decade, so that’s our mission is to provide them with that experience," he explained.
