Fans looking forward to The Angry Birds Movie 2 won't have to wait quite as long for the film to hit theaters as originally expected.

The Angry Birds Movie 2 was originally slated to arrive on Aug. 16. However, Sony Pictures Animation revealed in a release that the sequel to its 2016 film based on the massively successful mobile game of the same name will now be released on Tuesday, Aug. 13.

This announcement came not long after it was revealed that the film had becoming the highest-rated video game adaptation on Rotten Tomatoes. The Angry Birds Movie 2 is currently "Certified Fresh" with an 83 percent approval rating from 29 reviews. And while more reviews are sure to come in the next few days, the studio clearly feels confident enough in the late summer entry to gift it to fans a few days early.

Directed by Thurop Van Orman, from a script by Peter Ackerman, Eyal Podell, and Jonathon E. Stewart, The Angry Birds Movie 2 stars the voices of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Leslie Jones, Bill Hader, Rachel Bloom, Awkwafina, Sterling K. Brown, Eugenio Derbez, Danny McBride, Peter Dinklage, Pete Davidson, Zach Woods, Dove Cameron, Lil Rel Howery, Nicki Minaj, Beck Bennett, Brooklynn Prince, JoJo Siwa, Colleen Ballinger, and David Dobrik. The film arrives in theaters on Aug. 13.
