'Angry Birds' Flies in With New Images

Entertainment Weekly has debuted new images from "Angry Birds," the CG-animated adaptation of the hit mobile game from Rovio and Sony Pictures.

According to producer John Cohen ("Despicable Me"), the film will get to the heart of the burning mystery at the game's center. “The question Rovio gets more than anything is ‘Why are these birds so angry?" he said. This is the origin story for how that conflict came to exist between birds and little green piggies.”

Jason Sudeikis stars as the easily ruffled Red, who, along with his equally prickly friends Chuck (Josh Gad) and Bomb (Danny McBride), must fight back against the Bad Piggies (including Bill Hader) when the encroach upon their all-bird paradise.

Directed by Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly, "Angry Birds" also stars Maya Rudolph, Hannibal Buress, Kate McKinnon, Keegan-Michael Key, Tony Hale and Peter Dinklage. The film opens May 20.
