True to the spirit of the X-Men film series, Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Apocalypse" looks to be as jam-packed with mutants as 2014's "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

One of the mutants appearing in the '80s-set epic is original X-Man Angel, played by "EastEnders" actor Ben Hardy. And with production on the 2016 sequel underway, Hardy has taken to Twitter to post a picture of himself undergoing the training he needs to do in order to perform the winged mutant's specific brand of aerial derring-do.

Hardy can be seen inside a vertical wind tunnel with stunt performer and skydiver Shane Habberstad, who will most likely be performing stunts for Angel in "Apocalypse."

Considering Warren Worthington III's comic book relationship to the film's titular bad guy, there's a solid chance that Hardy's Angel will play a pivotal role in the movie. Previously released concept art revealed that the naturally feather-winged Angel will undergo a makeover similar to the one Apocalypse gave him in the comics, which left him with metallic, razor-sharp wings.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" opens on May 27, 2016.
