Actor Andy Serkis seems to have enjoyed his experience working with director Matt Reeves on the rebooted Planet of the Apes franchise, as he's interested in joining up with Reeves' first foray into the DC Extended Universe: The Batman.

JoBlo asked Serkis if he had any interest in joining the DCEU or Reeves' film. "Oh, for sure," the actor replied. "I mean, I'd go to the edge of the created universe with Matt [Reeves]. I mean, he's the most brilliant director. I would work with anything with him again, y'know, I mean, I absolutely adore him and we're very good friends, close friends, and I think he's an extraordinary director so for sure."

Serkis is no stranger to superhero movies, having played Ulysses Klaue in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Black Panther. The actor is also known for his motion capture work, so there's a chance that his role could involve bringing a character to life that way.

While it’s still unknown whether Ben Affleck will return as Batman for the solo flick, previous reports indicated that Jake Gyllenhaal could step up to fill the role in Reeves’ film should Affleck opt out. Either way, it seems Reeves is moving full steam ahead with work on the film, having confirmed back in January that he’s in the outlining process and has the story worked out.

As of right now, The Batman does not have a release date.
