Andy Park is best known as Marvel Studios' Director of Visual Development and for his work on movies like ThorGuardians of the Galaxy and Avengers. He is now showing off an ambitious early design for Ant-Man's movie poster.

Park shared a black and white sketch of his Ant-Man concept via Instagram and explained how he drew a poster for Comic-Con International. He envisioned Ant-Man standing front and center with panels of key moments from the movie placed behind him. The sketch showcases Ant-Man riding an ant, Scott Lang shrinking down to size, and a scene between Paul Rudd's Lang and Michael Douglas' Hank Pym. Park revealed the studio wanted a more typical cinema-style poster to promote Ant-Man.

Unsurprisingly, Ant-Man underwent a lot of changes over the years and was in development under Edgar Wright as early as 2003. Peyton Reed's Ant-Man eventually hit theaters in 2015 and was praised for its small stakes adventure, relative to others in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Peyton Reed's movie introduced Rudd to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Scott Lang. While Ant-Man later went on to be a major part of Avengers: Endgame, his MCU debut was a high-risk venture for the studio. Worth noting is that even Park highlighted the fact Ant-Man was a gamble. The designer also went on to praise Reed's leadership in helping to bring Ant-Man to life.

Park has gone on an Ant-Man sharing spree and adds the SDCC poster to a growing list of posts about his work on the character in the MCU, including the Ant-Man sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Director Peyton Reed's Ant-Man and the Wasp stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Tip "T.I." Harris, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Laurence Fishburne, Hannah John-Kamen, Randall Park and Walton Goggins.
