"The Walking Dead" star Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes on AMC's hit show, discussed the scope of season six during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

When asked how he would describe the upcoming season, Lincoln responded, "Big. Very big. Ambitious. Brave."

"There are more walkers than we've ever faced before," he continued. "I think the storytelling is astonishing. [Showrunner] Scott [M. Gimple] has kind of picked up very much where we left off and he's spinning 18 principal storylines in an incredibly complicated and cool way."

"I think there are a couple of episodes this season that are certainly some of the best episodes I've read, maybe in a couple of seasons," he added.

Based on the Image Comics series of the same name and created by Robert Kirkman, the sixth season of "The Walking Dead" is scheduled to debut with a 90-minute episode Oct. 11 on AMC.
