Though it has been long known that Colossus would be making an appearance in the forthcoming "Deadpool" movie, no actor had been named in the role. We knew Daniel Cudmore, who'd played the character in each of his appearance in past X-films, would not be returning. In mid-April, a towering figure was seen in a motion capture suit on the Vancouver "Deadpool" set, leading many to speculate this was Colossus. Now, it's been confirmed that actor Andre Tricoteux was indeed doing mo-cap for the part.

Tricoteux is known for his stunt work on films like "Seventh Son" and the upcoming "Warcraft" feature. In fact, IMDB.com lists him as Colossus' stunt double, not the main actor, indicating someone else may step in to voice the character. Still, the 6'-10.5" actor confirmed his part in the film in a tweet celebrating the film's wrapping. Actress Gina Carano, who plays Angel Dust in the film, also added confirmation in her response.

That's a wrap for me! Thanks to all the cast and crew. @VancityReynolds @briannahilde @edskrein @ginacarano #Deadpool #Colossus #yvrshoots- Andre Tricoteux (@andretricoteux) May 29, 2015

You're the best #Colossus a person could ask for Andre. 💚 https://t.co/mObR1L6TDR- Gina Carano (@ginacarano) May 29, 2015
