Two of the stars of Disney+'s fast approaching Star Wars series Andor personally voice their respective characters in the show's Spanish dub.

At the D23 Expo in Anaheim, Andor lead Diego Luna -- a native of Mexico -- announced that both he and co-star Adria Arjona -- a native of Puerto Rico -- voice their respective Star Wars characters in the Spanish-language version of the Rogue One prequel series. In Andor, Luna reprises his role as Rebel spy Cassian Andor, while Arjona joins the Star Wars franchise as Bix Caleen.

"Thanks so much [not only] to those here who speak Spanish, but to the general public who speak Spanish who are watching in Latin America, Mexico, Spain and here in this country," Luna said at D23 (translated from Spanish). "And to announce that Adria and I did the Spanish dubbed versions for Latin America [and] the U.S in case you want to watch in Spanish. It is us. And we appreciate your love and support. It means a lot to us and you're with us in the process." Notably, while actors voicing their own characters in a foreign language dub is certainly not unprecedented, it's still fairly rare.

Andor Premieres on Disney+ on Sept. 21

Lucasfilm's latest live-action Disney+ series set within the Star Wars universe, Andor is set to premiere its first three episodes on Disney+ on Wednesday, Sept. 21. Andor serves as a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, with the Disney+ series' first season taking place five years prior to the events of the 2016 anthology film (which itself takes place directly before the events of the original Star Wars film from 1977). Andor Season 2 will then cover the subsequent four years of Cassian Andor's life, leading directly into the events of Rogue One -- which saw him give his life as part of the Rebel Alliance's ultimately successful bid to steal the Death Star plans from the Galactic Empire.
