Although Amy Adams is still in talks, Jake Gyllenhaal is reportedly attached as the male lead for Tom Ford's directorial return, "Nocturnal Animals." According to The Hollywood Reporter, Joaquin Phoenix and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are also being eyed for potential roles.

Based on Austin Wright's novel "Tony and Susan," the film follows a woman named Susan as she reviews a book manuscript sent to her by her ex-husband. The story centers on both Susan and the novel, titled "Nocturnal Animals," as she finds some truths about herself in the book's plot about a family vacation gone wrong.

"Nocturnal Animals" will be Ford's first film since 2009's "A Single Man." There is no studio attached.
