Teen Anne Boonchuy is a frog out of water when she's magically transported to a fantastical marshland populated by frog people in Disney Channel's new animated comedy Amphibia. CBR has an exclusive clip from the series ahead of its June 17 premiere.
Created and executive produced by Matt Braly (Gravity Falls, Big City Greens), Amphibia is inspired by his heritage, family and childhood trips to Bangkok, Thailand.
Brenda Song (The Suite Life of Zack & Cody) voices the fearless Anne, who forges a friendship with the excitable young frog Sprig Plantar, played by Justin Felbinger (Miles From Tomorrowland). They're joined by Amanda Leighton (This Is Us) as unpredictable pollywog Polly Plantar, and Bill Farmer, the legendary voice of Goofy, as overprotective and traditional grandfather Hop Pop.
The all-star cast of guest voices includes Tony Hale (Veep) as mysterious salesman Apothecary Gary; Chris Sullivan (This Is Us) as southern tusked frog Gunther, and bed and breakfast owner Teddy; Stephen Root (Barry) as Wartwood's Mayor Toadstool; Jack McBrayer (30 Rock) as Mayor Toadstool's assistant, Toadie; Kristen Johnston and Matt Jones (Mom) as prison guards Braddock and Percy; Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir as celebrity talent show judges; Diedrich Bader (Batman: The Brave and the Bold) as famous bugball player, Frog Jordan; Kevin McDonald (Lilo & Stitch) as restaurant critic Mr. Duckweed; James Patrick Stuart (General Hospital) as town vagrant One-Eyed Wally; and YouTube personality Anna Akana as Anne's best friend from back home, Sasha.
Amphibia premieres Monday, June 17, with new episodes arriving daily through Thursday, June 20, on Disney Channel and DisneyNOW. Following the premiere week, episodes will air daily throughout the summer. A second season has already been ordered.
