Production on Season 10 of FX's American Horror Story (aka American Horror Story: Double Feature) came to a halt as a result of COVID-19.

According to Variety, one of the actors on the show tested positive after being exposed to the coronavirus, though the name of the actor in question was withheld.

This isn't the first time COVID-19 has affected American Horror Story. In December 2020, just after filming began, it was forced to pause along with a number of other California-based productions.

As for the plot of AHS: Double Feature, fans should expect some familiar elements while also staying prepared for new tonal twists. "I think this is OK to say, I think the suspense in this and the tight, constrained nature of the story is different than other seasons. I was really interested in trying to mount the pressure in the right way, if that makes sense," actor Finn Wittrock explained in March while discussing how Season 10 of AHS will differ from its predecessors. "It is different in tone than a lot of the other seasons."

In addition to Wittrock, AHS: Double Feature will star Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Sarah Paulson and Macaulay Culkin, among others. Season 10 premieres Wednesday, Aug. 25 on FX.
