A new teaser for FX's American Horror Stories takes an unconventional approach to marketing, depicting a pair of bantering actors dressed in rubber suits as they mill about between camera takes while shooting the show's official trailer. The unusual promotion comes one day in advance of the premiere of the highly anticipated series, a spinoff of the immensely popular American Horror Story, the 10th season of which is expected to be released in August.Related: American Horror Stories' First Trailer Reveals the Show's Various Monsters

The clip begins with an offscreen voice shouting, "Cut," and proceeds to lay bare the actors' out-of-character interaction, which would normally be hidden by the work of film editors. The anonymous performers try to break the ice by talking about how the spinoff series differs from its parent program, with one of them attempting a clumsy introduction by interjecting, "I'm Rubber Woman, by the way. I probably should have introduced myself before. I'm so nervous."

While American Horror Story is an anthology focusing on a different set of characters each season, its plurally named derivative will take the anthologizing one step further by crafting each episode as a standalone story. Debuting in Oct. 2011, the original series has garnered numerous awards, with Jessica Lange alone earning two Emmys, a Golden Globe and a SAG Award for her performances on the show.

Created by Ryan Murphy, American Horror Stories stars Dyllon Burnside, Nico Greetham, Kevin McHale, Charles Melton, Matt Bomer, Taissa Farmiga, Evan Peters, Sierra McCormick, Kaia Gerber and Paris Jackson, among others. The series premieres July 15 on Hulu.
