Starz Network recently announced that its series American Gods is ending with Season 3. The fantasy drama was canceled due to low ratings, and while it didn't have high viewership, there's no doubt that American Gods had fans who will miss the show, with even author Neil Gaiman is holding onto hop, claiming the series is not completely dead on Twitter. There are also rumors that there will be an American Gods TV movie, but nothing has been confirmed yet, so for now, fance can turn to these shows to fill the void left by the canceled series.

Lucifer

Lucifer follows the titular character Lucifer, the Devil himself. Bored of his life in Hell, he leaves for Los Angeles, where he opens a night club and becomes a consultant to the LAPD. Both American Gods and Lucifer are connected to writer Gaiman. He's the author of the novel American Gods, which the canceled series is heavily based on, and he also created the DC Comics character Lucifer, which the Lucifer TV series is based on. Fans of American Gods will enjoy Lucifer for its similar religious and fantastical themes, as well as their contemporary yet magical settings.

Game of Thrones

Arya Stark in Game of Thrones Season 8.

The wildly popular Game of Thrones is a must-see for any fan of the drama or fantasy genres. Set in medieval times, Game of Thrones follows nine warring families as they battle to claim the Iron Throne, which means one will subsequently inherit control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Fans of American Gods are certain to enjoy the series, as when the former was released, it was hailed by critics and audiences as the "new Game of Thrones."

Preacher

Jesse Custer

Preacher presents an Agnostic view of the Christian God -- a God who has left humanity. Supernatural-powered preacher Jesse Custer sets out in search of the missing, all-powerful being. While American Gods focuses on faith in multiple gods across many cultures and countries, Preacher centers on Christianity. In some ways, Preacher acts as the antithesis of American Gods. However, fans of the latter will certainly enjoy its contrasting themes, and both explore divinity in unique, fascinating ways.

His Dark Materials
