American Gods' Ricky Whittle Reveals Season 2 Premiere Date

Ricky Whittle has revealed the premiere date for the second season of American Gods.

Whittle stars in the Starz adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s epic novel as the lead character, Shadow Moon. The series centers around Shadow and his journey alongside Mr. Wednesday, who in reality is the Norse god Odin trying to recruit an army of other mythical forces to fight a new generation of gods.

Whittle posted the release date to his Instagram account, revealing that the season will premiere on Starz on Mar. 10, 2019. The series will also be posted to Amazon Prime and made available to stream in 200 different territories worldwide.

American Gods has been reportedly mired in behind-the-scenes problems, with actors departing the series and showrunner Jesse Alexander being forced out after production fell behind schedule and over budget. The premiere of the new season might be able to change the show’s fortunes for the better.

American Gods, starring Ricky Whittle, Emily Browning, Pablo Schreiber, Crispin Glover, Bruce Langley, Yetide Badaki, Ian McShane, Mousa Kraish, Kahyum Kim, Demore Barnes, Orlando Jones and Chris Obi  is scheduled to return for its second season Mar. 10, 2019.
