With the Season 2 premiere of American Gods less than two months away, the Starz series has released an official trailer for the upcoming season.

Driven by a voiceover monologue by star Ian McShane as Mister Wednesday, the two-minute trailer has the enigmatic figure provide a history of the Old Gods coming to America and the arrival of New Gods over the course of time.

"There are New Gods growing in America and they want to destroy us," warns Wednesday to his charge Shadow Moon. "War's coming, Shadow. I have a big role for you."

As Shadow and Wednesday continue their road trip across the country, the duo are seen traveling through time and space encountering both New and Old Gods as tension mounts between the two factions of deities.

Based on the Neil Gaiman novel of the same name, American Gods, starring Ricky Whittle, Emily Browning, Pablo Schreiber, Crispin Glover, Bruce Langley, Yetide Badaki, Ian McShane, Mousa Kraish, Kahyum Kim, Demore Barnes, Orlando Jones and Chris Obi is scheduled to return for its second season on Starz on March 10.
