When a wrestler-turned-supervillain hijacks a hero's catchphrase on national television, the only logical response is to fight, right?

Last night, WWE's Stardust -- the face-painted villainous alter ego of wrestler Cody Rhodes -- took his long-simmering feud with "Arrow" star Stephen Amell one step further on "Smackdown," declaring to his just-beaten opponent, fellow WWE superstar R-Truth, "You have failed this city!" Stardust then called out Neville, WWE's resident superhero figure, but the implication was clear: he wants to face off against Starling City's vigilante defender.

Amell swiftly responded, posting the following photo on Facebook with the comment, "Stardust stole my line. Somebody point me in the direction of the WWE Universe. It's on." Amell posted the same photo on Twitter, with the statement, "You know the saying imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? I disagree. Somebody point me towards @StardustWWE!"

Adding to the fun, Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner, has also begun a social media war with Stardust, tweeting the following message earlier this week.

Hey @StardustWWE! I think you borrowed something from me that you have no right wear...see it?? pic.twitter.com/kfUjtJqLYz- William Shatner (@WilliamShatner) July 29, 2015

This, of course, prompted the following response from the wrestler:

I expect this kinda' thing from Sisko

Stardust has been building a feud with the "Arrow" star since Amell appeared on the May 26 episode of "WWE Raw." Early on, it appeared as if the two were laying the groundwork for a program that would see Amell square off against Stardust at SummerSlam, the WWE's second-biggest pay-per-view event of the year. However, as soon as rumors began to circulate about the proposed match, word got out that it was unlikely to happen.

In recent weeks, however, the SummerSlam match with Amell has looked like it was on once again. While feuding with Neville, Stardust continued to shoot barbs at Amell, making regular references to "green arrows" and superheroes while continuing to volley insults back and forth with the actor on Twitter. Amell recently posted a video to his Facebook page, indicating that he may stop by "Raw" when the show arrives in San Jose, CA, a tease further supported by last night's exchange between the two.

SummerSlam takes place Sunday, Aug. 23 and will be available via Pay-Per-View and the WWE Network.
