Amazon's Zombieland Series Casts Kirk Ward as Tallahassee

Amazon's upcoming Zombieland series has finally found its Tallahassee.

Deadline reports that Kirk Ward is taking the role previously played by Woody Harrelson in the 2009 movie, which makes him the last main player to be brought into the new series. The initial casting call also lists new characters named Fred and Ainsley.

Tallahassee was described in the casting call as "still kind of a snarky weirdo, but he seems to have a much less spiky relationship with Columbus. He and Columbus have a pretty amusing thing where they riff on the fact that Steven Seagal movies always have three-word titles like 'Marked for Justice' or 'May Cause Diarrhea.' But Tallahassee also dispenses homespun wisdom about how to feel happy with your life. He also tells a weird story about being in a trailer park with a perpetually nude Matthew McConaughey. He also has a somewhat heartwarming scene where he tells Columbus that he’s been wandering aimlessly for a long time, but maybe he’s been put here for a reason — to help Columbus and the others."

In addition to Ward, Maiara Walsh has been cast as Emma Stone's replacement as Wichita, Tyler Ross will take Jesse Eisenberg's Columbus role and Izabela Vidovic will portray Little Rock, which was originally played by Abigail Breslin.

Developed for Amazon’s streaming service, the half-hour comedy will be directed by Eli Craig (Tucker & Dale Vs. Evil), with the involvement of original producer Gavin Polone and writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
