Starting in October, acclaimed movie studio Blumhouse Productions and Amazon Studios will team up to release eight thematically connected horror movies under the banner Welcome to the Blumhouse.

Blumhouse and Amazon Studios unveiled a teaser trailer for the first four films that's already packed full of sinister thrills and chills. The first four films will be released in sets of two throughout October and land on television screens just in time for Halloween. Welcome to Blumhouse's remaining four movies will be released in October 2021. Below is the first look into the first four films (Black Box, Evil Eye, The Lie and Nocturne), which is set to the haunting cover of "What's Up," performed by FJØRA with 4 Non-Blondes' Linda Perry producing the track.

The Welcome to Blumhouse series debuts on Oct. 6 with The Lie and Black Box. The Lie follows a couple who are shocked to learn that their daughter has just killed her best friend. Black Box explores the grief of a father who recently lost his wife, as memories of a car accident leads him to begin to question his identity and sanity while receiving an experimental treatment.

Nocturne and Evil Eye are the next pair of films, set to release on Oct. 13. Nocturne tells the story of a student at an elite arts academy who finds the notebook of a deceased classmate and its unsettling contents. Evil Eye centers around a mother obsessed with the feeling that her daughter's new boyfriend is somehow connected to her own past.

The Lie is written and directed by Veena Sud and its cast includes Joey King, Peter Sarsgaard and Mireille Enos. Black Box is directed and co-written by Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour, Jr. and stars Mamoudou Athie Phylicia Rashad and Amanda Christine star. Nocturne is directed by Zu Quirke and will be her feature film debut. Evil Eye is directed by Rajeev Dassani and executive produced by Priyanka Chopra Jonas.
