The official Twitter account for Amazon Prime's upcoming superhero parody show “The Tick” has released the first image of the hero’s new iconic blue suit that will be donned by the series’ lead actor, Peter Serafinowicz ("Guardians of the Galaxy"). The post also marks Serafinowicz’s first week on set for the show that is slated to release its first full season this year.RELATED: Up, Up and Awry: The 15 Craziest Superhero Spoofs

Amazon’s “The Tick” is an adaptation of the 1986 character created by cartoonist Ben Edlund to advertise the New England Comics chain. The character would find popularity later when he went on to star in his own line of independent comics in 1988 and, in 1994, as the star of an animated series on Fox. Fox also attempted to adapt the character into a live-action show in 2001, but the series was short-lived, airing for only nine episodes before it was cancelled.

The pilot for “The Tick,” which is currently available to stream on Amazon Video, saw Serafinowicz don another version of the costume that included much more texture. This new version appears smoother and a brighter shade of blue.

Debuting on the Amazon streaming service in 2017, the first full season of “The Tick” will star Peter Serafinowicz as The Tick, Griffin Newman as Arthur Everest, Valorie Curry as Dot Everest, Brendan Hines as Superian, Jackie Earle Haley as The Terror and Yara Martinez as Ms. Lint.
