Robert Aramayo, who played a young Ned Stark in Seasons 6 and 7 of HBO's Game of Thrones, is reportedly the new lead in Amazon's upcoming Lord of the Rings television series.

According to Deadline, Aramayo will replace Will Poulter after he had to back out of negotiations due to a scheduling conflict. The young hero role for Lord of the Rings is referred to as Beldor.

The cast includes Ema Horvath, Joseph Mawle and Markella Kavenagh. Mawle will be the show's primary villain, but otherwise, information about their roles is being kept under wraps.

Aside from playing Ned Stark, Aramayo's previous roles include Bill Harley in Discovery’s Harley and the Davidsons and a part in Netflix's upcoming miniseries, Behind the Eyes.

The Amazon series has already been renewed for a second season. Production on Season 1 is expected to take place in New Zealand. Following the completion of the first two episodes, the series will go on a four to five-month production hiatus, which is when the writer's room will map out and write the Season 2 scripts.
