Amazon has announced the premiere date of the 13 original series that comprise its initial 2015 pilot season. The shows, which include comedies, dramas, docuseries and kids entertainment, will all arrive on Jan. 15 on Amazon Instant Video in the United States, United Kingdom and Germany.
The seven comedy and drama pilots were announced in November and include offerings from Ridley Scott, Carlton Cuse, Shawn Ryan and Frank Spotnitz. The series are Cocked (starring Sam Trammell and Jason Lee), Shawn Ryan's Mad Dogs (starring Steve Zahn and Billy Zane), Frank Spotnitz and Ridley Scott's The Man in the High Castle and Carlton Cuse's Point of Honor; the half-hour Down Dog and Salem Rogers (starring Leslie Bibb); and the documentary series The New Yorker Presents.
Six additional shows aimed at younger audiences have been ordered. Buddy: Tech Detective, The Stinky & Dirty Show, Sara Solves It and Niko and the Sword of Light comprise the animated offerings, which join a pair of live-action series: Table 58 and Just Add Magic.
The fate of all of these pilots will be left to Amazon customers to decide. Only the ones chosen will be ordered to series and given a full episode order. You can check out the pilots via the Amazon Instant Video app on Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, Fire tablets, Fire phone, iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Roku, Xbox, PlayStation, Wii, and other devices like smart TVs. Customers can also watch online at Amazon.com/AIV.
