Although many fans had hoped "Hannibal" might find a new home at Amazon or Netflix, showrunner Bryan Fuller has revealed both platforms passed on the recently canceled NBC thriller.

Fuller certainly seems hopeful -- "we're still investigating possibilities" -- but the prospects for a fourth season don't look good. Even if a cable channel or another streaming service were to step forward, Deadline notes "Hannibal" producer Gaumont International Television allowed the options to expire last week on stars Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelson, who are already fielding other offers.
Add to that Fuller's next project, the Starz adaptation of Neil Gaiman's "American Gods," which the website contends would delay production of a fourth season of "Hannibal" by more than a year; Amazon, it seems, wasn't willing to wait.
Fuller will be joined by Dancy, actor Richard Armitage and Executive Producer Martha De Laurentiis at Comic-Con International on Saturday for what will likely be the final "Hannibal" panel.
