What little we know about the plot of director Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man has come from piecing together casting announcements, occasional clues dropped by the actors, and the stray rumor from the set. It hasn't amounted to much, though. One thing is now certain, though: Oscorp Industries plays a role in the franchise reboot.
That information comes courtesy of Twitter user Claimo and Superhero Hype reader Steyin, who snapped photos of the movie's New York City location shoot, where the 46-story Hearst Tower is doubling as Norman Osborn's company.
It's perhaps not a huge surprise, considering that Irrfan Khan's character appears to be Nels Van Adder, the Oscorp employee who, in Marvel comics, was transformed into the red-skinned monster referred to as "Proto-Goblin." But does this mean we'll also see Osborn himself in The Amazing Spider-Man? Steyin asked a few people on set whether the character had been cast, "but they claimed to know 'nothing'."
The Amazing Spider-Man stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Irrfan Khan, Denis Leary, Chris Zylka, Campbell Scott, C. Thomas Howell, Julianne Nicholson and Annie Parisse. The film opens on July 3, 2012.
