The following contains spoilers for The Amazing Spider-Man #5, on sale now from Marvel.

Marvel's The Amazing Spider-Man #5 teases a potential reconnection between Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Black Cat/Felicia Hardy that could lead to a rekindling of an old flame.

The Amazing Spider-Man #5 comes from writer Zeb Wells, penciler John Romita Jr., inker Scott Hanna, colorist Marcio Menyz and letterer VC's Joe Caramagna. In the issue, Peter has returned bloodied and bruised from his interactions with Tombstone and the Rose. He's sitting on top of a rooftop when Felicia, who previously told Mary Jane she was looking for Peter in The Amazing Spider-Man #4, shows up to ask how he's doing.

Peter tells Felicia he's currently into "some messy stuff" but doesn't want any assistance dealing with any of it at the moment. Felicia says she understands and knows that Peter won't accept help "because [his] heart is broken." She tells Peter, "You can get as angry as you want, but I know you're hurting. You've been playing injured since the accident with Ben. And I'm not talking about your body." Before leaving, Felicia gives Peter some advice -- stop trying so hard and start having fun again as Spider-Man. "You find that smile of yours, give me a call...," she says while jumping away. "...Maybe I'll let you chase me around a bit."

The Amazing Spider-Man sees Peter isolated from most of his friends and family after a still unknown incident causes a rift between him and those he's closest to. The first issue of the series revealed Mary Jane, Peter's longtime love interest, has since found a new partner and now has two children. While the sparks may not yet be flying between Peter and Felicia, the two have been romantically interested in one another before. They broke up after a time; however, Felicia has remained close friends with both Peter and Mary Jane following the end of the relationship.
